Once try to open the SAMSUNG Kies as run as administrator.I had same problem I even hard reset the phone but the problem was with the software not with phone.If it wont work try driver recovery.Hope your problem will be solved

I'm an old fashion girl cause i believe that best way to access your phone, card memory is using the pc suite that's compatible with your phone... so in order to use kies and access both of the phone, card memory and also use your cell phone as a modem to connect the Internet... you need to choose Samsung Kies option... cause if you choose Mass Storage, you will be able to access the memory card only and from windows explorer, kies will give you this message (reconnect the device to samsung kies pc studio mode. kies doesn't support this connect mode)... and if you choose multimedia, you will be able to access both of the phone, card memory on windows media player and on windows explorer and kies will give you the same reconnect message again :)

Here I'll show you, how to configure your Gmail Id in SAMSUNG Corby Pro Mobile phone. This configuration will help you to receive all your mails in your Gmail mailbox as well as you'll be able to send mails.
So get start with below steps:
1. Go to Settings ---> Application Settings---> Messages---> Email---> Email Accounts
2. Account Name: anything or your name
3. SMTP Server : smtp.gmail.com
4. SMTP Port: 465
5. Secure Connection : SSL
6.Incoming server type: POP3
7. POP3 Server: pop.gmail.com
8. POP3 port: 995
9. Secure Connection: SSL
10. Download limits: 500 (your wish)
11. IMAP4 incoming email : New
12. Retrieving Option: Whole Message (your wish)
13. Keep on Server: (yes) check the box
14. My email address: youremail@gmail.com
15. User Name: youremail@gmail.com
16. Password: Your Gmail Password
17. Pop Before SMTP: Uncheck
18. SMTP auth.: (yes) check the box
19. Same as POP3/IMAP4: (yes)check the box
20. SAVE it
Make sure your POP is enable in your Gmail settings.
If you are using Airtel, then select Mobile Office settings for internet.
This configuration will 100% work and many users tried it

it's so weird that kies doesn't work on your desktop xp... cause the installation dc that came with inside the cell phone box says that it supports windows xp and windows vista... but it won't matter now... listen remove kies from you windows 7 and install it from this page

on both windows xp and windows 7... cause on this page it says that it supports xp, vista and 7 and i tell you to install it on both windows just to know which one will work on it.... you may say that's an old version... well we need to make it work well first then we will update it to the latest version...
Try this and install kies as i always recommend in my posts then tell me what happen

Hi Jane,
When you mention connect your corby pro to PC as "modem" I presume you are reffering to the option in PC connection "Samsung Kies"? Since in my corby pro there are only 3 options -
1. Mass Storage
2. Multimedia
3. Samsung Kies.

Hard resetting you phone will restore the phone to it's original factory settings... so of course you will lose all the applications and games that you installed but losing the default preloaded applications... i never seen such a problem and it never happen to me or any user when we hard reset the phone...

Hi Jane,
I recently baught the corby pro which is a very good phone in terms of internet, multimedia but I am having fair amount of problems with PC connectivity.I have both desktop Xp and Notebook Win7 platforms for PC.
The KIES just does not start in XP. It works ok in Win 7 but the features are very limited in terms of messaging with complete absence of SMS sending or editing options from PC. Niether is it possible to get net connectivity to PC from Phone ISP because the
Internet connection in KIES simply asks disconnection.
I tried direct dialup thru windows but it does not work either (we even tried the "extra string" in the modem set-up). This used to work very smoothly with my earlier phone the cookie.
The blue tooth connectivity to PC is also just like to other phones i.e. file transfer can be made only file by file. Neither the phone memory nor the memory card storage is detected ( as used to happen in the cookie and all my Nokia phones)in the windows explorer, for any of the connectivity settings - mass strg./multi med./kies.
As suggested here earlier I downloaded Samsung PC suite, but it detectes the modem only as for multimedia!
I am completely stuck up. The only way connectivity is available with PC is thru the USB. That too in KIES the connectivity is entirely restricted to KIES feature with being able to connect to internet. Or directly in connectivity setting KIES/Multi media, the card mass storage though detected is not avalable and behaves strangely and in the setting 'mass storage' only the card is visible.
Is there a way out thru this predicament, any blue tooth drivers or appropriate USB drivers so that I can give Internet connectivity to PC or use the PC Suite as is being used for the same phone elsewhere ?!

Install Kies pc suite... you can download and install it from the internet or you can install it from the Cds that came in the cell phone box... after you install it and connect the phone... you will see two icons on the upper right side, a cell phone and a memory card icon... press on the cell phone icon and you will access the phone memory and the same with the memory card :)

Now no gmaps is here although i can download it but there is no touch java app wid latitude thats y i need default touch latitude app back....i hv tried my level bst but cudnt suceed now plzzz sort my problem out plz do me ur pricious favour again plzzz thanks...god bless

now pack up all the data that you save on your phone memory like contact, music, pictures and messages.... remove the memory card and then hard rest your phone using this code *2767*3855#.... this is the only way to restore the old original google maps :)
