Great phone, fits my needs! I have the Chinese version, the GT-B5310U. I think the main difference is that the WiFi uses WAPI, which is a Chinese standard. Also it didn't come with GPS, although there is a Phone Tracker app, don't know how that would work.

Does anyone know if this phone will work in the United States, say, with a SIM from a US carrier like AT&T or T-Mobile?

I know Rogers has a similar phone in Canada, the B5310R, which uses the same bands as the US. My Chinese phone uses: 3G=900/2100 MHz; 2G=850/900/1800/1900.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2010can someone who've used the phone tell me about it and tell... moreHey there,
I work in a cell phone calling company, so I know quite a but about the phones.
the 2 phones you are debating on getting are a bit different, as in, the
blackberry (BB) is smartphone, and the Corby Pro (CP) isn't.

Smartphones have so many functions that regular phones don't have. If you were to get the BB rather then the CP, depending on what you will do with your phone, the BB has tons of application to keep your organized, like the memo pads, the calendar, the tasks pad, the password keeper.

It save times, all the application you want you can put right in your menu, rather then always having to go get them on the internet to access them, like yahoo messenger, msn messenger, BB messenger, or google talk. You can access twitter, facebook and those popular sites right out on your menu also.

Not only are smartphones really organized in there information and applications, They do some really cool things that regular phones don't do, for example,
when someone sends your a telephone number in a text message, the phone will recognize it's phone number and you'll be able to call it directly from the text message.

Or once you install the facebook application, when someone calls you that is a contact on your facebook, you will see there facebook picture and name on the screen. When you add contacts on your phone, your phone will recognize them from your facebook contacts and will go get there facebook information, which you'll se directly in your contact list. Awesome.

Also the phone comes with SO many preinstalled ringtones, good ringtones too, and games and applications. And you can always go on the net on your phone to download apps that are specially made for BBs that makes your phone even more pimped out. Oh and the camera is awesome also, and it has a flash that automatically detects when it's dark and uses the flash.

And now for our regular CP. So as I said in the beginning it really depends what you want to do with your phone. A regular phone doesn't even have half the apps a smartphone has, but it's a good phone for texting making it quick and easy to send your friends some texts. It has a touch screen which makes clicking things faster, but personally I hate touch screen because the screen gets full of fingerprints and it looks disgusting.

Well, I don't really have that much to say about the CP because it's not a phone that will do a whole lot, apps are limited, texting and calling is made easy ya, but if you really want to have fun with a phone, get a smartphone, once you put your hands on a BB you'll never go back to a regular phone again.
