Im a very very big fan of Samsung Mobile Phones and thought i had found a little beauty for back to basics.
Little did i realise how back to basics samsung was prepared to go in slider mobiles.
I found the following problems with C300.
1) Polyphonics are limited to midi tunes with a max of 16 instruments or chords played at the same time this means that many ringtones will not play such as a D600 midi, and thats not where it stops if the ringtone you have sent into the phone via mms is greater than 16 chord it will be received wont play stating not supported content and then you cant delete it out of the phone the only way is by deleting all personally added music and pictures off the phone and start from scratch again (this is not on).
2) As its a basic phone its only got 2meg but thats not bad for just midi.
If your after a basic phone with some tones and know the limitations then its not too bad but there are far better phones from other makes such as Sony Ericsson or Motorola with better spec and possibly inc MP3 as well as midi plus camera and in many bottom end infra red (on sony ericsson) or you can use USB Cable).
I took mine back to the local virgin store and paid the extra for the E900 much smarter and better but of course more money at £89 this included 200 free minutes to any network (payg) and as i had done an upgrade ie used my old virgin sim card i got £10 extra airtime on top. (this offer was on C300 too).

Finally i found out to mute the phone while ringing without keeping it silent mode is just to press the down key for 1 or 2 seconds. while speaking just press the middle button in joystick and select speaker on in option menu to turn on handsfree speaker on. and repeat to off.

Painfully slow and quite difficult to get connected features working properly. Anyone else witnessing power cycles when trying to access the Internet through a downloaded Java app?

You have to hold down the hash key (#) on the bottom right corner of the keypad to make the phone on silent.

I bought this phone as a temporary until my upgrade, I had a motorola V3x and it was useless - the battery life was dismal and it drove me insane!!
The C300 is ideal as a quick & easy to use phone for very little outlay, if you don't like it don't buy it!
