Is it true that we cant set our downloaded tones/songs as message alert tone? man that sucks!! i am about to buy a samsung touchscreen phone. thats why im searching the web which model to buy..

tong c.k.ho, 07 Feb 2011I have this phone for less than 8 months and its getting go... morei have mine too.. maybe you got a defected phone... most of my friends have this phone too and never had the same problem like what you have.. maybe the store where you bought your phone did something wrong with your phone.. maybe they change your original phone parts..

I have this phone for less than 8 months and its getting goofy as in poor battery life, calender/scheduler unreliable,fake call features cannot be deactivated, no choice of message alert tones except what comes with the phone ( do not allow your own downloads alerts/tones), poor response of the touchscreen etc etc. Worse if you are in Malaysia, in the state of Penang (as I am) the Samsung service centre staff tells you that your phone does not have warranty cover when you complain about these issues instead tells you that there is water inside your phone. How can that be when I have NEVER dropped the phone into any puddle of water! I can't swim, so I am not even remotely near any swimming pools. The only times that the phone is expose to water is whenever I run out from my car to the house. Is Samsung phone so unable to deal with that??? I am not getting another Samsung phone.

Anonymous, 21 Jan 2011Samsung handsets are just awful. Although, I'm a corby user... moreu have to look on the price of nokia 5233, 5800 & then samsung genoa. U can't compare these 2 mobiles. U can compare samsung genoa with nokia 5130.

koo pal, 23 Jan 2011important note:read forums before you start bragging,samsun... moreI have been so many mobile phone forums. And used lots of phone. I am using Nokia N85 now. You should read more about nokia before you say something foolish. You said nokia is using an old symbian OS. Do you know that they are constantly updating this os? We can easily update our phone software through internet. And for your info Nokia has Maimo platform phones too. So Before you say something foolish like that about such a stronger and a stable operating system as symbian of nokia you should read forums.

important note:read forums before you start bragging,samsung has a great line up of mobile phones at the moment,unlike nokia which still runs the pre historic symbian os..it was good,coz it was the only good os before..now that there's android,windows..i dont know what will happen to you guys,samsung has the bada platform,and i read that meego is coming out..so you guys w/the symbian aka virus prone os should feel left behind right now..even if you have the latest nokia phone that runs on symbian,no matter how good the specs are..better start selling those phones right now

Samsung handsets are just awful. Although, I'm a corby user I don't like these handsets. I cant apply themes, download cool apps, leave apps run in background or use flash contents. These handsets are just so boring. I've used Nokia 5233, 5530 & 5800. There's no point of supporting Samsung after using these Nokia phones. Samsung has a long way to go in the world of mobile phones.
