After 2, 3 days of sending text messages, it becomes natural and you type as fast as a keyboard phone. So, try it for 2, 3 days before misjudging this phone.
In fact, this is the best phone ever, and I have had plenty since 95.
And what a battery. With many texting, calls, net, it stays on for about 7days. Excelent!

I bought 6712duo last week. Text messaging is realy very bad. soft key pad functions erratically. if I press any letter or button it will type something else.I need to delete & delete & correct many times. Just for example "where are you" message i take max 10 seconds in any other touch phone(3 seconds in key pad phone with dictionary on). But 6712duo is very worse. really i took 2 mins. When i showed this to dem de didnt agree in first. But when they tried ,you believe it or not they took 6 min to type this message & accepeted my complaint .(very rarely i finished in 1 min). this is all because this is Capacitive touch screen& you cannot use stick/stylus pen. So i dont promote this. i have given back to check.If this is only the problem in my phone i will get replacement and check again. but if it is cammon in all 6712 duo. I suggest not to buy this. Definitely you will be frustrated in text messaging as long u will be using it. So please be careful &check before buying this model. If any dealers see my posting please report to Samsung. If this issue is solved i think it will be the best option for 2G non android phone buyer sine it has most of min required features.And price is also reasonable.

well gud phn bit prb in texting may get habitual of it after sometime ,camera gud touch gud games not so gud well overall nice phn.

I have purchased C6712 Star II DUOS on 19-01-2012 from Mobile point Complete mobile phone solutions Muvattupuzha. My contacts from my old phone have been transmitted to this phone memmory within one week. After one month all contacts are seen deleted from my phone(C6712 Star II DUOS). I have contacted the firm and they had informed to contact M/s TELE TECH SAMSONG AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTRE Door No. XII/ 966 SNDP jn. Muvattupuzha.When I contacted them, the technician informed me that this may be by the deletion of all contacts by ignorance.AS accepted the direction I have collected most of the important phone numbers by waisting so many time and money. Now on 18-3-2012, I have to keep my phone in silent mode. After replacing to normal mode it is seen that the contacts are seen nil. I contacted the technician in his mobile No.9446535549 at 1.22 PM. He has informed that he is in bussy and will call after five minutes. Till the time no response has received from him. I am facing severe problems as all my contacts are seen deleted.
I hope you will consider the matter positievely and solve my problems soon.

I need a new phone n m really confused b/w SAMSUNG C... moremr, chi, i will recommend u samsung monte, it has gud processor,gud cam,btry life, alot of apps and games and android type firmwares can be installed to it, gud speaker, and browsing is also v much gud , as compared to 6712, memory of 6712 is v low thts why browsing is not gud, and its processor is also slow...so better go for monte....

i hav bought this mob 3 weeks ago.iwant to share my experience
-for those ppl who are fond of texting messaging it is not ideal for them
-excellent battry life
-touch is gud
-not so much gud in playing games
-if u want to keep ur dual sim on then it is a gud choice
-its look is not so much attractive , u can say that it is just ok
-u hav just ONE theme, so much disapointing, i downloaded samsung theme making software , and the themes which are made by that software, only displays the signal, it does not display sim 1 or sim 2.
-only the samsung original theme displays sim and sim 2.
-camera result is also fine
-it has message protecting, files protecting, phone keypad lock, security system. ths why i always buy samsung mobile, bcoz no one can read my messages.
-it has got its on gud mp3 tones and alerts.
-while texting i feel v problem and takes alot of time,maybe after few months i get use to typing.
-it has dual qwety and numeric keyboard, typing on qwerty in landscape is sooo difficult.
-only 240.320 resolution vidz can b played
in last iwud say that those ppl who want a touc duos mob with gud btry life ,then it this mob is a gud option.....
