Samsung tipped to outsource Exynos production to TSMC

Samsung's struggles with Exynos might lead to the company outsourcing chip production. According to one leakster, the Korean company is considering TSMC as an external manufacturing partner, and later, the rumor was backed by a former Qualcomm employee, currently an industry analyst.

If proven to be true, the rumor is likely regarding future Exynos products. The Exynos 2500 is still happening, despite reports of low initial yields.

TSMC also manufactures competitor chips, like Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, for example.

We have to point out that even if the switch to TSMC happens, Samsung will continue designing the architecture of the Exynos chip. The main company handles everything from R&D to distribution, only the manufacturing segment is outsourced to a third party, in this case - TSMC.

I think the fact that TSMC is on China is better China is more fair for any company from any part of the world. They don't punish company out of the blue Thus we all, as the user will benefit for the growth in the science/tech.

"you like this until a slab phone costs 2000 USD because TSMC can charge whatever the hell they want for their fab services." I don't think that would happened. SMIC is right behind TSMC, and TSMC know it's time will come s...

I think we should give Exynos team a change that their design is good, the bad part was in the factory, not them. If after 2 or 3 years their chip underperformed,,.... then... it's really time to kick them
