abc: My guess is, that the phone supports only .3GPP files, like most other phones. If you dont know wich program you need to watch the videos with, you need Quicktime. I hope that helped you a bit. :-)

marius... go to compare Nokia 7610 vs Samsung D720. Operating system is symbian and they are in same class. 1.3mpx Bluetooth Memmory card slot... but ...!
samsung display can't be compared again!
external and second are 256k colors!!
design is stylish and modern. Nokia's phones looks like box and is not comfortable. i dont't look for many function because i have a computer and digital camera. I don't expect of phone to make a high quality photos. I look for desighn... Winners of GSM Awards 2005 in CANNES

Hi: could anybody please tell me what type of video format does the media player on the D500 support? I uploaded video clips (in mpeg and avi format) onto the phone and the media player on the phone says it does not support the format, then i converted the files into mpeg-4 format but it still doesnt work, could some one please help me?

Just got D500 yesterday and tried to assign different ringtone for each group such as friend , office etc. but found out I could not assign those names I saved in SIM but can assign only names saved in Phone. Is this right ? can anyone advise , does it mean I have to copy all name from SIM to phone then I will be able to assign the different ringtone. Anyone please help. Tks

i think n7610 is a class over d500, the camera is better, pc cable works very good, you can watch mouvies, install a lot of programs like mp3 player, mouvie player, you can print photos directly from phone, can change covers and a lot of oher things. here is not enough space to talk about n7610

Hi, hope somebody can help sent off for some ringtones and mainly when i send off for them they appear in downloaded sounds but i received some last night and they have saved in voice list, they cant be opened or played etc and the file type is .amr, can anyone give me any advice on this - Thanks

Rebecca, not quite true, you can easily put mp3's on your phone by using a data cable (or bluetooth dongle). I brought mine usb cable for £8 on ebay and have been able to transfer using EasyStudio 2.0 (free from samsung website) very easily back and forth from the phone. I have also been able to add games to the phone via my data cable. If anybody wants help with that email me, but note I do not have a bluetooth dongle so can't help on bluetooth matters...

This phone is fantastic! I have had it for a few weeks and I've barely put it down! The only thing is mp3- you have to access WAP to get any songs. A USB with the phone would come in handy! All in all, amazing phone! By the way, it comes in grey as well as silver and black, I've got a grey one.

i would like gues here to ask... did you ever have a samsung D500....????
i read the infrared is missing, the infrared can't send information to other phones, i read d500 have a 80mb shared memory and i read many many bullshit.
the real is:
96mb shared memmory 5mb - only for java
irda bluetooth - send and recieve to any other phones computers.
the quality is HIGHT compared with other phones... but it depend of mobile network. Size of phone is small compared with other 1.3mpx cameras phones.
sound and display.. the samsung ever win in this category. The display is not so bright.. but in direct sunlight it is N1
camera quality is HIGHT, the sensor is not CCD but compared with other phones is better.
that it. best phone for the price.
if you wanna more and more functions go to Symbian OS or Microsoft.

1.to that guy,how ask what to choose between n6260 or sD500 : WELL YOU ARE SO DUMMIE,because is an BIG diference on them and D500 RULZzz !!!
2.to that guy that asking if ANY CABLE work to pc,the answere is CERTENLY NOoo !!!
-> but,i could tell you that the charger is same at the sE700/E710/E715, and i guess that,AN DATA CABLE OF AN "E" MODEL COULD WORK !!!

Great phone,much improved over D410.Sms a bit cumbersome,must scroll thru chinese and malay to access #'s and to get back to T9 Eng. Blue tooth is great.Do not get too close to magnet (like a phone holder) does weird stuff!

Kester go for 6630 its allot better than other 2 & 6630 has Symbian Operating System which is always a great plus point of mobile

Hey, looks pretty good! too bad there's no expansion for it and you got to get the pc cable urself. Just yesterday I saw that this phone's price dropped by 30% to match almost that of the nokia N6230i. In the D500 review, saw that it is in the same class as the n6230... so I was wondering, what do you guys think.. N6230 or D500 is better? I would say that D500 look so much cooler, but lacks radio and the expansion like the N6230i. Let me know :)
