The IR option is located in the Settings Menu -Connectivity -[2]Infrared

I can't seem to get IR working with the software. When I go to setup, there is no IR option as stated in the manual. Does anyone know how to get the software to connect to the phone via IR? Thanks!

i see that some people are comparing the D500 to multiple different phones saying one aspect of it isn't as good as one phone, and another aspect isn't as good as a different one. but how does it compare overall, one to one? and is there another similar phone that is better? i don't want to buy a nokia cuz it's better in one thing and also a sony ericsson for another superior function. most complete package counts. and i think screens are important and i haven't seen a non-samsung that's better. i haven't found a better phone out now that isn't too tech'd out making us robots so if there is one from nokia or whoever, please inform.

i have got it about 2weeks i think nokia is beter more than it eg. 6670 or 7610 if everryone want to buy it iwant to say only its godd for design only and i don't like about batterry its relly bad

i juz change my panasonic x70 to samsung d500. its certainly too small for a man to use as i feel no comfartable to hold it in my hand. the camera is great but its photo its take is more than the screen show(out of border), making me hard to focus, also in its highest resolution it take long time to process the pic. and the wallpaper and video just can't put it full screen. the connectivity is good. overall still a very good cell phone but definitely much more suitable for a lady.

As u all said you dont know how to get mp3 in the d500 well first of all u hav got to buy the usb dongle and download it in to ur
computer, then u fix the dongle in ur comp then u choose the song then right click o and da password is 0000 for all new phones as i was saying right click on the song and then press send and then press blutooth then press the name of ur phone and it will transfer anything some songs might not be able to transfer then u download that song again and probably it ll work the dongle will cost around 50 dollars and um if u have any problems contact killarock77@hotmail.com

the zoom function automatically shuts off if phone is at maximum res, if phone is on vga or below, zoom will automatically reappear. hope that helps.

Ok...obviously many people are having problems with downloading mp3's or ringtones into their phones. Can Somebody PLEASE just take time out and give us a detail explanation to us all how to do it.

i love the phone!just ive got a problem with my battery that only lasts 2days and i only got it for 1 week.and also how can i get MP3's on my phone.where do i get it or what software do i need.please anyone, im desperate to know!neway great phone

D500? Not very good.Compare with 6260 its still a loser in functions.1.3megapixels cam Sucks after comparing with a 6670 1megapixel cam.Only mp3 camera and internal memory of ONLY 96MB with no expansion supported by MEMORY CARDS.Although 6260 has only a VGA cam.it has unlimited video recording,Radio,Memory card slot,IT IS A SYMBIAN fone.That is why d500 is not as good as it seems.=)Admit it.

can anyone advise: is this phone capable of recording ongoing conversations??
and when display illumination is off can the date and time still be seen??
or missed calls, messages advices?

It's an awesome phone...my only complaint is that the ringer volume isn't loud enough.
