the samsung d500 is mint but it costs you an arm and a leg to download stuff onto it. tut..........

3GP is the video format commonly used by mobile phones to record. You should be able to play it on your PC if you have Media player, quicktime or realplayer. I think that at least one of them can play the 3GP format. If not then they should give you the option to download updates for them that will allow you to.

I've never seen a good phone like this,I've tested its intelligents and I must say that its good, however I cannot play video's on my pc (3gp format) >what is it ,and how do you overcome this because thats the only thing I have a problem with.

Everyone, i purchesed D500 2 weeks ago it is one of the best i had ever. I love my MP3's, videos, wallpaper. Its so easy to use. Specialy the MP3 i can do so much on it its crazy. I got the phone updated to 158mb and the software and now i can do so much more.and i changes the black case to platinum grey yellow. so i realy do recomand this Samsung D500.

I thought i am able to use SyncML OTA, sending data via GPRS to a SyncML server, but I can't find any of such feature after i got the phone. It can only sync with desktop. I am quite dissapointed with it after this discovery, but overall, its still a pretty good phone.

After creating an MMF ringtone is it difficult to upload it to your phone? Do you have to buy a program to do it? Do you need bluetooth to do it? Or can you just plug it into your USB port?
If someone could please take a little time to answer that question it would be greatly appreciated. Email me if you would prefer rather than leaving a message on the board.

this phone is just the best wireless handset out in the market.(well,nothing compared to the phones in korea but...)
i'm making the best use out of this phone!
Bluetooth headset,and I just purchased a bluetooth usb data dongle and i'm enjoying my mp3 player.I even transfer songs using infrared with my friend's D500.you guys definitely should get the usb bluetooth dongle(u can transfer music on your pc to your phone wireless!!!)also share mp3 music with another friend who has D500 using infrared!
remember,to make best use out of this phone,take GOOD advantage of tech called "BLUETOOTH"

Please can someone help urgent, I want to download MP music to my phone which is the D500 I have the USB cable and the USB drivers are installed but how do I now transfer the music to my phone.

hey guys! i have had the samsung e720 for two weeks and im beggining to wonder whether i should have gone for the d500!! ive had a look and compared them and they have pretty much the same features, only different design! which one do you guys favour?! cheers! em x

Hi all, i'm a great fan of SIEMENS mobiles as they 're usually built very tough.
I now own a D500 and can't help but feel it's wonderful with enough functions to keep most people happy.
Wish it could:
1) ring and vibrate simultaneously - besides having to create MMF tunes yourself
2) support voice dialing - convenient when driving and using bluetooth.
Concerned about the workmanship:
- Not sure how lasting it is with all the sliding parts, guess we'll only find out after several months

Samsung and the MP3 player
MP3 support is absolutely new at Samsung's. I have mentioned it at the ringing tones, where it is possible to set an MP3 file instead of a classic ringing melody. The phone can be used as a limited MP3 player. It is not a limit of memory, which has a record-breaking capacity, but it's a problem of communication with a PC. Loading data via Bluetooth or infrared port is not the right solution; you need to get an USB cable if you mean it seriously.
MP3 player interface
Player functions are another limit. It allows you just to skip among tracks and not to rewind or go forward and get e.g. to the middle of a song. During playing a music other people can call you but you can't do anything else; e.g. write messages. Once a call is finished, the playing won't continue from a place where it stopped - a song will start to play from beginning.
List of MP3 files
The sound quality is good. That stands for delivered stereophonic headphones, which can be used as a handsfree, and also for loud playback directly from the phone's speaker. Also you can connect the Sound Mate, which will improve the sound quality. Just a pity that the connector is not a standard jack and we can use only delivered headphones, as they aren't really top-quality.
