My suggestion to T.T.
Install the software from Samsung website then activate the infra red on your D500 then put it on your computer. Then when it has the icon on the bottom right saying D500 in range open up the Easy Studio 2.0 software and the phone should be connected down the bottom of that program.

For TT
I haven't had any problems with using infra red and easy studio. I downloaded it from

For Josh.
This phone hs been available since the 23rd Of March here in Australia. So if you go to your nearest phone store they will be able to give you a price and sell you one. But better be quick as the first shipment of phones is likely to go as there has been a huge demand for this phone.

Just got this phone last Monday, and love it! I've been taking pictures, and actually used the camcorder to film the highlights of a fishing trip I went on. It works marvelously. I have the black version, I've handled/seen the silver version, but the black is just much nicer. Makes it look more elegant. The silver is cool too, but it kind of takes away from what the D500 is, elegant. I've seen a dark grey/graphite color too, but that's way more rare to come across. I had the option to buy one, but they never had the stock in, but one of the shop owners had it. It's best to use USB to transfer things from PC to phone, or vise versa. The bluetooth works fine linking to PC, but USB is much quicker. The Bluetooth worked fine for me too when I transferred a 256kb video to my cousins s700a. Worked like a charm! Battery holds up very well. Max I've ever lost is one bar, and that with using camera and camcorder on my fishing trip. Reception is better than I though on Cingular, but I'm in California, so that may be why. Ascending ring tone was annying, but now I'm used to it. No way to turn it off. Overall, I'm very happy with the phone :D

Hi,
What do you think, how is the price of D500 compared to Nokia 6230i?
Any advice as to which phone should I get?
Thanks.

This is unmistakably the best phone around now! it has got all the functions one needs and most importantly, no other equivalent phone comes within touching distance in terms of size. For those guys complaining about the vibration, try checking out the vibrating ringtones! Overall, i am very satisfied but not until i get my hands on the new D600.

I downloaded the software for the D500 ("Easy Studio v2.0"), but I have a very big problem: it just can't open the infrared port (so it can't see the phone) and it stays offline! I still have the "Easy GPRS" software that I got for my old D410 and that one sees my phone and it tries to load the data. But the "Easy Studio" does not "see" the phone! What can I do??????????????? Please help!

i got my Samsung SGH - D500 on the 19th of March. I never regreted getting it, even though the price was pretty high. It's the best phone i've ever got. I was peviously with Sagem X-7m but now upgraded to Samasung D500. A job-well-done to Samsung. The features are cool, especially the MP3. Thanks Samsung for BUILDING MY PHONE. Tomiwa.

Thanks Kay, I have just noted from the other web site that the silver is in fact a limited edition.
DOes anyone know whether it will be available in Australia soon? I can't wait long to make my purchase of D500...
Also, with the USB port, does it mean we can transfer file to USB storage easily?
Thanks,
JOsh

Hi There,
Anyone ever come across a silver colour D500 (Asia Pacific)? Gsmarena indicates that there are 2 colours available yet the digital images only shown for the 'black'... a bit confused. I would prefer to have silver, but wanting to make sure it is available?? Thanks!
