Is there any way to lock the keypad when the slide is closed, without having to slide it open then closed again?

decided to get the d500 against the v3. i can accept that v3 is lousy at everything BUT i cant accept that v3 beeps all the time when it receives a text.....its so annoying especially in the middle of the night..although motorola v3 is elegant and watever its is but the d500 will always lead the v3. welldone samsung

Finally the a holes at o2 online have got their act together and released this phone! ordered mine, should come tomorra and i cant wait.. i reccomend this website for their contracts but not their customer service. www.o2.co.uk

hey i just bought this GREAT PHONE! and i mean it, ive also got a V3...but im selling the wide sh*t, because the features compared to D500 is not worth comparing, the D500 stands a mile apart. Great stylish phone, no one has it near me which is great, the camera quality is GREAT.
Great Deal, I wonder how Samsung fitted ALL the bare essentials into one tiny, compact phone? Great Work!

Who cares if it is or ever will be available in any pary of the world, it is here in GREAT BRITAIN now and that is all that matters coz it is the greatest phone that man has made so far! If it is not available in your country or you can't afford it - TOO BAD!

Just received mine today! what a great phone does everything that you require it to do! Much better than the Nokia 7610i I had and much much better then the New Nokia 9500i I had well done Samsung very impressed!!this phone I will keep for a couple of years at least!!

What a great little phone but I'm afraid the camera does not live up to the screen quality. The Sharp GX30/32 beats it hands down on this front even though its camera is only 1.0mp which is a real shame as the D500 excels at everything else.

can any1 tell me if the slide option is batter operated, because i have to push it a little bit, and then it does it self autmatically with out the use of battery(i.e when the phone is off), i think it is operated by magnets rather than battery for the slide.

For those who`re wonderin` if d500 records better than the s700, well the answer is that it does record, not just better, but much better videos, so think twice before choosin` the s700 (bigger, heavier, not easily to use, crap video), so d500 is a much better choice.

Why on earth do some people pay good money for a phone (whatever make and model) and not pay that tiny bit extra for insurance to cover accidental damage or loss?
