I live in the Caribbean, purchased my Samsung D500 in England February 2006. An absoultely marvellous phone but needs to be charged very often. People are facinated by it and all it's features. In my country only the black is sold, mine however is a silver and a kind of ash black never saw that colour any where else. Keep it close for fear of it being stolen.

I have now got my second D500 and I am quite upset. Within 6 months of getting my original I took it out of my pocked one day and noticed the LCD screen had cracked! luckily I had insurance and got it replaced. Not sure what happened but they said it was was quite sensitive. I have now had my second one for 3 months and the screen has done it again, this time I wasn't even in contact with it. It was kept on my couch at home. When I took it in they said someone must have got in and tampered with it but thats just not possible.

I have a D500 since Januari 2006.It's a great phone and has a superb design. On the downside I find the procedure to upload Java games very cumbersome.Since only my Mac (OSX) has bluetooth I can only send/receive files on that computer not on my PC but the Java upload procedure is PC-Only.Was able to have PIM manager work under Virtual PC though but not Java upload. And it was very buggy. It will ask me a few dozen times whether I want to accept incoming bluetooth conection.Ultimately it connects and u can work normally.ALso, does someone know where to download firmware for the D500? I would like to enable Hindi language support but so far didn't find anything.

I have had the D500 for over a week and I truly love it. (TIPS AND TRICKS) I can transfer pictures/music/sound (havent tried video) to the phone using bluetooth which is much more convenient. You normally can not transfer pictures from one phone to the other because each picture taken from a particular phone has some history that goes with it. You have to edit it with a suitable software such as Adobe and erase the history so its blank then send it via bluetooth to the D500. Same is true with my Samsung 720 (sprint).

well, there has been about two post about how to get files to be sent from the computer to the phone or vice versa. Well, the phone basically do not come with wire or programs to install to your computer to transfer files (for D500c versions...i don't know about other versions) so you have to find an alternative way to do it. this is the method that i have been useing for quite a long time. well, you can basically buy a blue tooth dongle or a infared red adapter for your computer. These products can be purchased in various computer accesories stores. Then you can follow the instructions to install the products respectively. Then you connect the blue tooth or infared red (IR) to your phone which have both functions. Then you send the items via blue tooth / IR. Done!

Am using Samsung D500 for the past 10 months. So far so good.....but recently my camera is not working properly. Whenever I try to take a picture, the display just hangs with the message "please wait". After that am not able to view anything. Only thing is I have to switch off and on it again. Anybody is aware of this problem?

Phone is great. Stylish, easy to use - no real quarms so far. However, when I transfer my viseo clips onto my computer, I can't seem to play them. I've tried to open them with a number of different programs, and the only one that comes close to working is Windows Media Player. But it skips and jumps all over the place. Does anyone know what program I should use to play my video clips?

For laura: To put it on mute aka Quiet Mode, you have to press for about one second key #. You have to configure the Quiet mode in the menu on how to respond (vibration, none, etc) To exit Quiet Mode, press again key #
