Luv the phone..best i'v had so far and i'v been thru alot of phones, only downside to it is that you cant have customised sms tones..as i found out and downloaded one..waste of time..but love the features,so small an sexy for my lil hand ;)oh btw if anyone knows how to lock your messages for privacy then plz let me know, only the manual doesn,t explain very good,an also can you record voice convo's?

I really love the phone. In the Caribbean we have a couple of the hot phones out in the US - Razr, Balckberry, amongst others so it was difficult to choose the phone i wanted for a gift. However, after doing my research I selected Samsung because of its uniqueness, simplicity snd elegance. Believe me, i am 200% happy that I chose the D500 because of it has proven to me its functionality.

While i totally adiore the phone i find just one problem with the effect of the flash on the brightness of the photos. Its a good feature to have but i fing that the timing is probably what makes the photo a little darker than expected with the aid of the light.

I dont know but i still love the phone and i still think its a good investment...

                        Callan,
U cant use zoom when u r using the 2 best camera settings, that are 1280x1024(SXGA) & the next best (I dont remember the res now as i dont have the fone with me :P).. With all other modes, u can use the zoom.. Not sure what u mean by "zoom is rubbish"; do u mean the quality of pic on zooming? In my opinion, u get the best with zoom in VGA (640x480) mode.

                        Carole,
Use the software called BlueSoleil. I got it with my BT adapter. With that MP3 transfer works like a charm.
Alternately, use 'fsquirt' in Run window (Windows key+R) if u r using Windows XP.. This will open the BT File Transfer Wizard. I havent used this but u might as well give it a shot..

                        Valeria,
U do get the apostrophe symbol in this.

Do post any more queries u have for ur D500, i will try my best to answer them..

A brilliant smart looking phone with all the latest technologies. However I still haven't managed to download mp3 files. Please could someone let me know how to transfer files from Windows Media Player (if possible) or which application to use so I can listen to my favourite music on my way to work? I've tried to use the wireless connection with the bluetooth function but it doesn't recognise my cumputer as a device for downloads... Please help. Thanks.

Is it true that when sending texts you don't get an apostrophe among the characters(this character: ', so you can't write something like: I'd like)?

                                        Hi all!

Been using this phone for 6 months now & I must say that this baby is worth every penny u spend on it. It hasnt yet given me a single problem.

I will point out the +ves & -ves on this one accdg to me:

+ Small, light & snug-fitting in the palm. Can easily handle it with one hand because of correct placement of buttons all around.

+ 1.3 mp camera gives pics that are of above-average quality.. (for folks who say that cam is not adequate, go & buy a digi-cam!! ;) ) Cam is under the slider with a mirror & a flash!! And it has a number of picture modes that give surprising results.

                                        + Speakers - loud & clear.

+ Slider & Keys - The best part of the D500 is the slider & it just grabs attention whenever u pop it up in public.. True, the first line of num-pad is close to the slider bottom, but well, its ok..

+ Memory - Total 100 MB is enough for a small-sized mp3 collection & java games. Would have loved to have a memory-slot, but the D510 has solved that prob..

+ Speed of operation - A major plus is the speed with which it responds. You will be able to note the difference (opening msgs, launching apps, etc) if u have used other phones earlier.

+ I have been using a BlueTooth dongle to exchange MP3s/pics/vids with my PC; it works like a charm.

                                        + 1000 X 12-field address book entries!!

                                        -ves:

                                        - MP3 player is good with playlist & all, but you cant play the songs in the back-ground & indulge in something else like texting.

                                        - Message tones cant be customised.

                                        - For text junkies, the 200-sms limit would be dis-appointing. Might have given it in the shared memory...

                                        - BlueTooth consumes the battery a lot.

I might have forgotten to add a few other points here, but the bottomline is that the phone serves you well functionally & if you are the one who likes to flash your phone in public, then this one's gonna grab more than a few eye-balls!!

                                        Cheers!
