If I save SMSes to my OUTBOX (ie. after clicking `Save and send') and I click on a sms - it doesn't give me the time I sent the sms: is this a problem on the Samsung D500 or a problem with my handset(ie. problem with firmware)?
All help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

When taking pictures, your best option is to set on SUPER FINE quality @ 1280x1024. When transferring pics of this quality from your cellphone via bluetooth dongle to computer - the quality is very visible!! Also the size of the pic is a whopping 260KB (maximum)
WELL DONE!!

I have recently decided to be a yuppy and use my Samsung D500 as an mp3 player with the standard headset that comes with the phone.
What is the maximum battery life I should expect from the Samsung D500, if music is playing constantly?
Thanks for the advice.

you can have a view of the ribbon at "http://www.siansmobiles.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=774&osCsid=9faed77ff2ccbf410a2746483554d1fc"
and bellow is a guide where you can use to change the ribbon or change the screen:
Open phone by sliding front cover up
Remove the 2 small silver screw covers on the peice with the camera lens attatched these are located in the corners.
Remove the 2 Small Phillips screws.
Close phone again.
Remove the battery exposing the rear of the phone and remove SIM card.
Remove the 4 small phillips screws in the corners and by prying the sides apart this will release the rear cover exposing the circuit board (PCB)
With a small screwdriver lift the ringer out which is on the top LHS and has 2 wires attatching it to the (PCB) then slide the phone half open giving you enough ribbon which attatches the 2 parts of the phone together to move slach so that the board can be lifted up from the top then un hock the chatger socket from the hole in the lower case.
the PCB will be loose.
Now to remove the board look onderneat it and you will see where the ribbon attatches this socked it coverd by some green tape peal back the tape then gently lift the little black bar that locks the ribbon in the socket and slide rhe ribbon cable out releasing the board from the phone.
Remove the number buttons by pushing it out of the case.
This will expose the 2 phillips screws in the metal case of the front asseblet which need to be removed
Then you can by prying the sides apart remove the front cover from the top by the camera un hooking from the bottom.
Un Hooke the camera ribbon which is on a small pulg on the top this just lifts apart.
The LCD board cam be removed by lifting the speaker out of the casing and lifting the board out being carefull with the big main gonnector ribbon (You may need to half open / close the phone to successfull get the ribon out.
Turn over the LCD PCB so the screen is downwards then carefully you will need to seperatre these 2 peices by putting a tiny screwdriver between the LCD and the PCB remoning the stick tape which attatches these 2 together.
Once seperated unsolder the 2 joints on the twin ribbon cable freeing them from the PCB and again remove the tape & lift the black locking bar for the LCD ribbon and remove the faulty LCD.
Replace the LCD and re assemble phone in reverse to disassembly instructions.

hi there...
i made a little resrerch work on the net to try to find out what is the problem of the white screen on the d500 and passed through a lot of forums and the problem is with the inner ribbon which connects the front part(screen) with the main body. As both part slids up & down it gets cracked(after some quite long time, not after a few months of usage, but one day it's for sure it will get crack).
I was planning to buy a d500 but finally decided not to go for it. i'll rather go for a bar type phone which will last for some quite long years(more than folding or sliding ones)....

to jacson,
Samsung does not include copy all contact from your sim to phone and vice versa instead you are given an option to copy one by one from sim to phone and vice versa, it is because i believe that the best synchronization in by pc to phone. There you can monitor entirely all your contacts, if it is already doubled or not. You have now the option on what is to be deleted or you want to copy from sim to phone/vice versa.
It is reasonable enough that samsung features only the "one by one copy" method from sim to phone/vice versa, because personally i do not want to double my contacts accidentally by copying all my sim contacts to phone contacts without reviewing what is to be moved and to be deleted. I know it will be a waste of time when that happens. At least on "one by one" method, you have the full option to manage your contacts.
P.S. the same also with the messages.

Hi! The phone is working fine, but I realized that you cannot copy fromphone to sim card at one time you have to do one by one. Can any body tell me how to do it or its the system that you have to copy contacts from Phoen to sim memory one by one.

people say its a runor about the white screen and buttons stopping working but there is some truth in it but not important. It happens to people who sit there sliding their phone open and closed constantly. It loosens the screen ribbon and looses contact but phone doesnt break, it would be fixed by removing 4 screws and pusing it back in. DONT GET ME WRONG I LOVE THIS PHONE AND IM NOT PUTTING ANYONE OFF- AS LONG AS YOU DONT SLIDE IT OPEN AND SHUT 24/7 FOR THE HELL OF IT NOTHING WILL HAPPEN!!!!!!
