Hey, this seems to be a universal problem. we are stuck with an anoying high-pitched tone. At first, i thought this was a bug, but then it really isn't. "keypad tone" refers to the alpha-numeric keypad and not the keys on the front of the phone. tones for these soft keys will NEVER change. As for the alpha-numeric key-pad, you ned to go to , , , and then change the to NORMAL. afterwhich, you can now chose a new alpha-numeric key-pad tone.
Now isn't that a confusing thing for Samsung to do?
Other than that, it is still a great phone. Best quality 1.3 MP camera yet on a phone. Enjoy!

Like it so far but: I cant save any phonebook entry in phone memory. First (with old software) i could do this, but I had few other problems (light on while charging, cant display jpg as wallpaper, only can mute key volume when displayed numbers are in "normal") which are now solved. Any solutions?

I just bought D520 yesterday. The KEYPAD TONE seems to be unaccessible!! I did not change anything. Initially I was able to select and get into KEYPAD TONE settings, but then now it is totally inactive and I could not select and get into it at all.
Anyone faced similar issue? Pls help!! Thx

hi guys um i'm about to buy this phone but one thing...i wish to use this as a full-time mp3 player and it only has a talk battery life of 3 hours...will that be a problem? also is this a2dp compatible? i want to listen to music wirelessly with a bluetooth headset. thanks

VIBRATION AND TONE:
I bought this phone 2 days ago and it rocks. i notice that, like myself, i got confused about this "vibrate" and "tone" mode.
It is really not a problem. Just set the settings for "incoming call" "alert type" to melody. Most melodies vibrate and sound-off at the same time.
The confusion occurs when you set it to "vibrate then melody", in which case, the phone will vibrate 3x and then play the melody.
The only down side i find in this phone is its annoying key-pad tone which can only be changed if the "dialing display" settings is set to normal. I just set the key-pad to silent. Other than that, best value for phone at $223.00

The good about this phone:
Nice slim and sleek design, filled with pretty okay features. It should have everything you need,1.3mp camera with flash, mp3 player, etc.
The bad about this phone:
-Even though it says dual speakers, they arent really loud at all. Most of the time I wont be able to hear a call in my pocket.
-Screen light stays on while charging?? doesnt seem like a problem but i think it might be bad for the phone to have the light on for a long period of time.
-Does NOT come with expandable memory, so you'll have to live with the 80mb that is embedded internally
Overall its a Great phone for the type of people that doesnt mind the faults.

yes you can set mp3 songs that you transfer to your phone as ringtones, this phone hasnt really been accepted into a carrier (at least not in the u.s.) so you really wouldnt be able to download anything because there isnt any "t-zones" and etc in it.

why can't you download ringing tones on this phone. Are you able to set your mp3 song as your ringing tone? Cheers, holla back peace x

i had the phone for about 2 months but I CANT DOWNLOAD ANY RING TONES ON IT. i like the phone but it would be better if i could download ringtones. And for the guy that asked about the t-zones, try to call ur phone company...they should be able to fix it for you. HOLLA @ ME!!!!

Have this phone for the past week using the T-Mobile service in S. California. Great phone, like it so much more than my black RAZR when I was on the Cingular service. No complaints except for the problem of the backlight staying on while charging.

This phone is alright. The makers of it though weren't really thinking of the end user though. Maximum 20 people per created group. (So I had to create two friend groups for mp3 ringtones.) The phone won't ring and vibrate at the same time, leading to a lot of missed calls.

Hi everybody. I just brought this phone two days ago. Quite nice and stylist. Any one can help me on. If the ringing tone can be louder or not. And also for the number that you r dailing a call. The font can be smaller or not. Bcoz is so big font. Pls help on it. Thanks anyway.

only downsider is price should be reduced because it only has 1.3 megapixel camera if it was £140-£145 that would make it worth getting.

to all the people who are complaining this design beats the d500/600/z500 design. This design is slim and looks amazing. Even though the features are not the best. You can have 10 mp3 songs. Which is fine if like me you have an ipod.
Also if you dont want to spend a lot then this is serious value for money.
Why because it has good games, amazng slim design, good video camcorder and good camera. I not buying z500 changed my mined prefer this design and I'am not too bovered about it only being 1.3 megapixels as the design makes up for it.
