Got my D600 at the end of September...battery life is 3 days from full charge to flat...if you use the mp3 player with headphones the battery dies in about 2.5 hours..if you playback thro the internal speakers you get about an hour and the battery gets warm because it is using the power so quickly. Otherwise a good mobile, not perfect, but close!

Happy with my D600,got everything I need, can't really fault it,used a W800 before but like D600 better:design/screen and sound quality/data speed/etc....even the w800 camera is a bit better and has a bit more advantage(only minor)....overall,samsung d600 is far much better than W800....pricewise/design/quality....the W800 doesn't look much different with the very old SE T610&T630(price has dropped from Usd 750 to Usd 500 in just 6 months).

hi, i believe that samsung is unique, and why samsung must implement those features which are used by other manufacturers. I like to point out that samsung do not have the "ME TOO" attitude because samsung put thier unique phone features on thier own way which are different from the others, example the way thier phone vibrate then ring begins which is very original and logical. Do the phones of other maker has this capability.

for the last poster, I'm a samsung fan, I want to buy the D600. I'm only showing the disadvantages of the D600, I know it has MORE advantages than the W800i. I want samsung to implement as much features as they can, UNDERSTAND? this forum is used so peaple can discuss all mobile related things, bad and good, UNDERSTAND?

If you can answer the disadvantages then you are welcomed, if not then for sure the D600 has some weaknesses like any other phone.

            counter to mikes negatives
#5) java applications can only be downloaded by wap: check here for instructions to dl java to ur phone. http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=773118
#10) cant full scree: press 1 when ur playing the video, it full screens to side ways like a wide screen thing.
#11) can change the soft for 2 secs, then loud: change the gain tables instructions are here - http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=702037
#12) display is a fingerprint magnet - so is a lot of phones out there that uses a screen. j/p i have no comment on this, i just wipe on my shirt. /shrugs
#13) ill sell you a D600 for 600USD that will include a 512 tflash stick. W800 is same as k750 with a different shell and different firmware + 512 stick + $150 more
            14) auto switch off?
            15) SE better UI than SS : very subjective
            16) no instant messaging : txt msging is fine for me, plus its a phone. /shrugs

all other disadvantages i either agree or it doesnt matter

disadvantage i would like to include
-no torch/flashlight: for the construction of the diodes on the outside, it makes sense to have the same function as the E715 of being used as a flashlight. otherwise keep the lense inside protected if your not using it.
-no flight mode: for a business phone you expect it to have this function, since business ppl travel a lot. Box says "The power of business." I guess they expect us not to play with our phones on the planes or expect the ban on cell phone use on planes to be lifted. /shrugs

My D600 has an extrememly short battery life as well. I usually charge my phone before I sleep, and by nine o'clock in the morning one bar of battery is gone already!! That's without making any calls, nor using any of the other features, safe merely leaving the phone on (without Bluetooth)! The phone would run out of juice by around 5-6pm. Extremely frustrated as it is an OK phone in terms of the design and other features.

I haven't got one yet but I am seriously considering it. THough All I have read about is that the W800 is better. What shall I do? I am a high user (well I am always on it) and if the battery is rubbish is it worth my while getting this phone?

I got the D500 and I have had SO MANY problems with it I am shocking myself with sticking to Samsung. Can you use custom message alerts on this one?

What pisses me off, is the after sales service, I have purchased 4 different types of blue tooth head phone to listen to my MP3 on the D600 but none work, you talk to Samsung, and they cant even give you a manufacturer that is compatable with the phone. so dont buy one

Buy a Nokia. This will solve all your problems. Good features, Good Battery, User Friendly. Whereas if you buy a other phones you will always need a chat site (like this one) to solve your problem.

if the battery only lasts for 1day, it's far than tolerable anymore =(

Gosh, everyone, What is with the battery issue? This battery problem is true to all multi media phones, regardless to what manufacturer.

I believe that battery is affected directly on how the user use the phone.

Now the fake critics are turning their attentions to the battery because they cannot find other fault on the d600. What now? What is next? Oh! I guess it would be the video recording.

but video recording is restricted to phones internal memory so how can it record for 1 hour? videos cant be saved directly into memory card but in phones memory first .
