basically the 2gig is too large for the handset
its like putting a 3.2ghrtz proccesor in a patuim tw0
not that im saying its a bad handset as i do have one myself and impressed with it

A fantastic phone, with all the features that you would find in a 2008 new model. 1 hour voice recording, video recording, decent photos(1.3 mega but good quality), sturdy to withstand many falls, stylish and user friendly.
I am constantly confused as to which to use - my nokia 6230i or samsung d820. Both are fantastic. look wise this samsung is better, but audio quality 6230i is slightly ahead.

it is a very nice phone. i had mine about a year now and it works good. however, i bought a 2gb micro sd card and it keeps asking to me format, when i click yes, it says error. the 1gb i had before was a micro sd/trans flash so i figured since the 2gb isn't a trans flash that was the problem but i tried in another samsung phone, it formatted. i took the 2gb card from that phone and placed it into mine and had the same problem. can someone please shed some light on what i should do?

Yes its because t809 aren't meant to hold 2gb. I called Samsung about this problem too and I just switched to a 1GB again.

In reply to the not being able to set an mp3 as a ringtone. If it's a D820 (or a T809 running D820 software), it should be able to by default. If you've got the T-Mobile T809 you can fake out the system to use the ringtown if you change the extension from mp3 to 3gp. It will fool the phone into thinking it's a video ringtown but it will actually play as an mp3 when you get an incoming call.
For the other(s) who have commented on the battery life. I have the same issue. It's very short and using it for much other then a few phone calls and especially if you use the internet on it, the battery drains like crazy on it.

what do you mean you connect your cellphone to you connector? I can't get it..yup my battery too has an small amount of lifespam that only last for a couple of hours..i hope you reply on this asap

very sleek phone... but lot of snags. sometimes the automatic locking facility doesn't work, and on low signal, the voice quality becomes very bad. Also the display the sliding function conked within a year. I think i will stick to nokia now for a reliable phone which will last more than a year

D820 is a very cool gadget of mine...whats important for me is i cud txt and col my friends everytime i need them...i have no comment of the features..it suits my taste...but one thing i have noticed...i cant set the mp3 songs as message alert tone..which is very sad...huhuhu...but guys...this phone is good...

This phone is really great,in fact it was till the last few days.
it started to switch off by itself and when i close the slide, the screen will go blank.
is there any repair for that?
i dnt wanna lose this phone.its the best i've used so far.

ive got my new fon just ds month and my only problem was about the batery, it only last for half day and if m not using it it just last 1 day..i rili hate charging every now and then..
could some one give me a brand of a 2gig micro sd compatible on this phone..thanks..

I found this phone easier than others in some functions like send & save sms's, if you hv selected it. I wld like 2 ask also D820' users 2 help about difference b2ween 3G & 2G. Bcoz i found that our brand hs got. I want 2 knw abt TV out put? EMS? What do they stand 4? Please help me...

Hello, can anyone help me. I have this phone for a long time but i still can't make one fucntion: sent messages(SMS). How can i make this function because on SE when you sent an SMS it automacally stores ir sent messages, but on D820 it doesn't, perhaps someone knows how to switch on this function, because i need to see messages witch i sent

I bought this unit back in 2006... i dropped this phone more the 20 times... and still working... very nice phone... sleek and has a good quality... it was only recently that I dicovered that if you want to zoom in the picture youv'e taken from this fone, use the volume buttons to zoom in and out... it only applies to Phone Photos... not for downloaded or favrite images... funny coz it was never stated in the manual.
