I just found where I read about limitations on sim2. At page 4.

On the product page:
Master SIM: Tri-band with full phone functions
Slave SIM: Dual-band with call & SMS capability only

    Hi Marius.

My sims are both from the same operator, so I think that there have to be no problems with the settings.

Somewhere on the web (I don't remember where) I read that sim2 can only send SMS and calls.

Perhaps a limitation of sim2? Probably.

    Thanks.

      @ JG

regarding the MMS setting, that U can send only from 1st SIM, maybe U made the MMS setings for the operator of the 1st SIM, and that.s the reason that even if U switch the sims between them doesn.t work...? can U tell me if the MMs settings can be done just for one or the 1st sim only ? ... Regards

No problem about MS Outlook. I just synchronised my old Sony Ericsson K610i and then moved all the contacts to the D880 duos without problems. Piece of cake!

wanna i ask one small question concerning the contacts, does this Samsung mobile synchronize with Microsoft outlook like the nokia mobiles.
Sorry but it will be my 1st time to use a Samsung, i have been always a Nokia fan but unfortunately i will have change to Samsung D880 due to Dual Sim option, i hope Nokia could enter this market sooner or later

              OOOOORRR!
You can press: menu-->settings-->simcardsmanagement. And choose wich simcard is off line! Save settings and youre done! 1 of the simcards is off line!

Yes, that's true, but remember that doing this you can only disable the secondary sim. If you want disable the primary sim, first you have to define it as secondary, reboot the phone and the set it offline.

When recording video, what is its highest record format setting? I use QVGA 320x240 on my d600.

I just bought this mobile phone. Making phone calls out of BOTH SIM cards is as easy as a touch of a button! I am pleased of it!

Want dual sim in the US and Europe?

Here is a dual sim card phone offered by Buyuz.com in Hong Kong which is supposed to 3work on 900/1800/1900 MHz on both cards, i.e. also in the US:

                        Hi Marcelo and all,
Fan of your Q&A and maybe you already answer to this question, but
How do you switch off one sim card without having to switch off the whole phone?
My mom keeps calling me on my private when I am on a meeting expecting an important call from my boss on sim card 2
Can you do you that or you dont have that option? what do you do?
                        thanks

It's very easy to do that. In the "call log" menu, there is an option called "call manager". Inside call manager you have "reject list". Put your mom's phone there and when she try to call you, she will hear the answering machine inmediatly. Your phone doesn't sound.

I changed cards by software, and the card in SIM2 (wich is set to primary) still have the problem, so I think it can be a limitation of SIM2 socket.

If someone can try it, I will appreciate.

I have found a problem with MMS.

With SIM1 I can send and receive MMS without problems, but with SIM2 I only can send MMS, not receive. I changed SIM cards (SIM1 to SIM2 and viceversa) phisically I mean, not by software, and the problem is still there. So, it's a problem of D880 or a problem of my unit?

Can someone try it and post the results, please?

                                Thankyou.

No problem Marcelo, I only try to help people. When I was searching information of D880 'cause I wanted to know if it's a good phone to buy, I found nothing on the net, only the english manual and a couple of videos in youtube. Now that I have the phone I think is good idea to help other people to decide.

                                        MARIUS:

If you want to send the MMS directly, you can't choose, you send it with SIM1, but if you save the MMS as Draft, when you go to the draft folder, then you can choose to send it with SIM1 or SIM2.

                                        THEGAME:

The videos you record with the phone are stored in MP4 format. The player can play MP4 and 3GP.
