I followed the instructions to raise the phone's volume but now it's too loud and the sound is distorted. Does anyone know the original settings?

i need help please i have a d900 and i was a motorola user, i took out my micro sd card from my motorola and put it in my d900 but the d900 wont show any of my pics or mp3 files that are on the card and i kno that they are on the card for sure.... any help please?

    Okay, listen up carefully!!

First copy your files from the card to another PC for storage.

Then put the Micro Card in your Samsung phone and FORMAT the card. After its formatted you can put your files back on it and it will work normally.

Use the USB Mass Storage setting with your USB cable to put the files on.

I just got the phone... is there a secret menu to unlock increased volume output through the earphones while listening to mp3's? The Samsung earphones that it ships with are ordinary in both sound quality and fit.

WRT no access to micro sd cards.

That's a trivial operation with only USB mass storage: USB hub + multiple mass storage devices off the hub. Have you never seen a 4-in-1 usb cardreader before?

i've had the phone for 2 weeks, and my only complaint is the battery is crap. it lasts 3 days at most, with minimal usage. it charges quickly, which is nice. the worst part is that the 3-bar battery icon is not accurate. it stays at 3 bars for about 60% of the time. when it gets down to 2 bars, its only there for 30%. the last bar lasts a few hours before it starts beeping "low battery" messages.... which gets annoying. soon thereafter, a single call will kill your phone in a few minutes. i had my previous phone for 2 years and i almost never ran out of battery. this phone, being so inaccurate with the battery icon, my phone has already fully died twice in two weeks! grrr.

              but otherwise, sweet phone. =P

I'm wondering, although people do say it's annoying how it does not automatically save sent messages and some other people say they'd prefer it didn't. Wouldn't the best option have it so you can set the automatic save or not? Which it also lacks.

Forget buying this phone buy the SE K800i. I have used both phones and the K800i is much faster browsing the internet ‘cause its 3G and the D900 isn’t and the K800i has a radio. Using the radio or playing games drinks the battery but the phone is very fast to charge.

The icons and browsing the menu looks better on the K800i also I think the volume on the K800i is slightly louder, not a lot of difference in the sound quality. I don’t know about the headphones for the D900 as I did not use it while reviewing the phone but the headphones on the K800i are ok and loud enough.

D900 phone is perfect, sound is great and functions are wicked, but only one thing the camera picture in dark is not that great as compare to Sony K800i, over all phone is one of the slimest and lightest phone.

                          to meejewa

In contrary to your most annoying things about the phone, I find them mostly pros.

Most annoying things you find which I find helpful:
                          1. We can't browse the microsd card in "modem" mde, i.e. we can't see it using PIM

Answer: Samsung D900 did not include the micro sd card in the modem mode in order to make the unit as a full functional mass storage device. Meaning you can use the phone as a mass storage device to any place with computer without the a secodary software (PC Studio) unlike Nokia or SE which uses Nokia/SE PC software in order to access their memory cards.

                          2. The playlist only limit to 30 songs each (4 playlist not modifiable). I have more than 150 songs so how am I suppose to put in on the playlist? Imagine having to go to the folder to search for the songs you want to play.

Ans: What I did is making many playlist from the memory card in folder form and from there i only move those playlist to the phone player on my avail and moving those playlist which i do not want anymore to the memory card with corresponsing constructed folder anyway I really cannot listen to 150 songs in a day or even a week.
                          3. No autosave for sent sms.

Answer: As far I am concerned, I really do not want my phone to autosave my sent messages, for me that is annoying. I love the D900 phone feature of giving me the full freedom on whether I want to save or not my sent messages so as there will be no traces from my phone if there was a hocus pocus sent messages I want to hide. So SAVE AND SEND feature is the best.

                          4. The SIM card is DARN hard to take out. The back panel as well!

Ans: Well that shows the firmness and compactness of the phone. Again a pros.

                          5. Picture quality (and video) is not that great. There's a lot of noise (grainy and blurry pics). Again, Sony K series is much better.

Answer: I realy object on this part. Samsung D900 has one of the great cameras in a phone, maybe not the best but comparable to the best and a rival to Nokia and SE. The video quality is realy awesome and SE cannot be considered as a threat to video quality of the D900 due to SE so-so video quality.

The rest is total quality satisfaction.

                          Thanks.

The phone's sound is so-so, even with the headset it's nothing compared to SE W series. However I like the menu, the speed, the look, and the functionality.

Most annoying things I find :
                            1. We can't browse the microsd card in "modem" mde, i.e. we can't see it using PIM

With all the cons you may think I hate the phone. But I do not. In fact I love it since day 1. I've always liked Samsung as it can give what I want in a phone, the above are just pluses; good to have, fine if not.

                                pYRT,

pls use the image editor of the samsung PC studio 3 on the computer and then transfer the image with frame to your phone, resize your image to a resolution of 320X240.

                                hope this will help.

If you play video games or use the camera alot, it drains the battery quick. I charge my battery about every other night. I haven't seen a good cell phone battery for phones that have cameras. If you are just making calls, the battery lasts for many days.
