Samsung Direct offers the Galaxy Nexus with extended battery
If you are interested in buying the Verizon Galaxy Nexus 4G LTE, you’d probably want to check out this offer. The Samsung Direct store is willing to give you a free extended battery and an original modified back cover to go with it if you place your purchase with it.
The offer applies only if you get the device on a 2-year contract with Verizon for $300. If you opt for the $800 contract-free (but still Verizon-locked) Galaxy Nexus you will not get the battery kit.
The extended battery kit includes a 2100mAh battery (you also get the original 1750mAh unit) and a new back cover to fit the bigger battery. The promotion ends on May 10 or when stock runs out.
Samsung Direct and Verizon stores are both offering the Galaxy Nexus on a contract for $300, so Samsung Direct should be the place to get one. But we still find the Amazon offer to be way better than either of those – you get the device for $99 on the same contract and you can then spend the extra $200 on all the accessories you might need.

If you are currently under contract then this article is probably in no way relevant to you. However, if you are like me and available for an upgrade this works out to the same price as buying the battery separate and saves a step.

Why would I spend $300 and get a "free" battery. When I can go to Amazon and get that same phone for $99 and just buy the $50 battery myself? Less than 1/2 the price.
