brojins@facebook.com, 01 Jul 2011.finally I found something I don't like about this phone ju... moreI don't know about the 3000 files but I have an 8gb memcard in the phone. I haven't counted how many files are in there but I know that I have used up only half the storage capacity.
My problem is that there is this one song that just WON'T appear in the music library or in the file manager in the phone. It's in mp3 format, only 4.5mb. I keep deleting and recopying it to the music folder but nothing. The music files that I put in after I put in that particular song play all right.
What could be wrong?

Whoa! That certainly turns me off a little bit! :P
|
I used samsung d880 and there, in any screen when you are going to make a call or sending a sms; sim1 and sim2 icons would appear and i could press the sim switch button to change my selection just before pressing the green button. That was cooler. :(
|
But here I'll have to switch it before going to phonebook i guess.
|
But when I am not having a conversation, both sims can be used for receiving calls and sms, right? :)

Papi, 01 Jul 2011I want to buy this phone. Plz tell me about its music quali... more@Papi:
I'm not much of a music man but I do have 57 songs loaded in right now...I say I am satisfied with the audio (I am listening to Backstreet Boys' All I have to Give while typing this)...the bass is good and the sound doesn't break even if you max out the volume using the basic headset that comes with it...and you can even improve the sound by messing up with the pre-set "equalizer".
as for the video/camera quality, well the video works fine but isn't that good, in fact, don't expect much from the video...sorry about that. And for the quality of the still pictures, well, I invite you to go check my photos on facebook because all of them are taken using this phone.
TIP: when using the phone's camera outdoor, set, adjust and max out the picture size to 1,200 X 960 and the quality to "superfine" then allow as much light in...the resulting photo would be anywhere from 250KB to 390KB each...avoid using the phone's zoom function though, instead zoom and crop your photos using a 3rd party photo editor on your pc before uploading to facebook (although you can upload those photos to facebook, Picasa, friendster, Flicker, Photobucket, and MySpace directly from the phone...cool huh? Those SNS and photo sharing sites come as pre-installed widgets on the phone! :) It is actually a great phone! Enjoy it!

Rajat, 02 Jul 2011Is the volume key works as a scrolling switch for this mobile?@Rajat:
no, mate! The volume rocker is not used as a scrolling switch...it is only used for increasing or decreasing the loudness of the sound when you are having a call, listening to music or watching a movie.
and also it is used to zoom in or out to make the view larger(nearer) or smaller(farther) when you are viewing pictures, or taking a photo or browsing the web through its built-in Netfront v3.5 web browser. :)

Dhrubo, 01 Jul 2011@brojins:
btw, brojins. sorry for disturbing you again and... more.the meaning of dual stand-by is that when idle the phone's 2 sim cards are both online and ready and is capable of receiving sms and mms anytime...that is, when you are not using either sims in a call (hence, stand-by)
however, the limitation is that only one sim card can make/receive a call! When sim1 is in call, sim2 cannot handle another call...and cannot receive a sms, mms nor browse the web. So, although this phone employs 2 sim cards this phone can only receive 1 call from 1 sim card at a time,it cannot handle multiple calls from both sims.

@Dhrubo:
you are welcome mate...
since the phone uses 2 sim cards it also means you are using 2 separate networks. So then you have to chose which of the two will be your DEFAULT sim or network... Your default sim/network will be the one used when you press the "call" button from the stand-by screen or when you open your phone's web browser and connect to the web or when you "send" messages because, its not like those China phones that asks you to select which sim to use everytime you send a message... And of course, soo unlike the Nokia dual sim phones that REQUIRE YOU TO TURN THE PHONE OFF IN ORDER TO CHANGE TO A DEFAULT SIM, there is a button at the lower right side of the phone that you press to instantly (making it sooo easy to) select and switch between the 2 sim cards to make it the default sim! Once you press that sim-switch button, the sim card icons on the upper-left corner of the phone is highlighted with a shade of blue. And also by setting the phone's theme to match each sim card or by setting a different wallpaper, you can easily tell which network is your default! That's why I say this is the best dual sim phone... :) (btw, I'm not a Samsung agent...just a happy, satisfied user :)

btw, brojins. sorry for disturbing you again and again mate.
Bt can u assure the dual standby thing here? In the manual, there were options of 'sim switch' and others. So i am a bit confused. How does this dual standby works actually? When do you select the sim when u call or text? How are the notifications showed? What are the limitations? Most importantly, what is the range of this term- 'dual standby' in this model?
Actually i do not live in india. And i'll have to bring that from there. That's why i am asking this much stuffs.
Plz give the most detailed information that u can. :)
thank you.
