Mark, you've got the same problem everyone else has. Take it down to your Samsung repair centre and they'll get it sorted out for free if it's still under warranty. I recommend doing what Jonesee says and sell it on after getting it fixed.

Hey guys, yep i have this white screen problem now too, it was so unexpected it's a shame cause i really like the phone but now i have no access to it only to answer calls which is annoying. I've had the phone 6 months now and so i have decided to get it repaired under warranty, then keep it for a month and then sell it on. I can't believe how pathetic this phone had been built. This is a good phone but i recommend you don't buy it, pick something else instead but not the Nokia 7610 that is a poorly built and expensive phone stay away from it.

i was wondering if im suffering this white screen problem. the screen is upside down and back to front. and the display is green and white and flashs. ive had it 4 months. its bin alrite up till now. any help. cant afford a new one ya know what im sayin!

Albert, the problem can't be prevented mate. Its a design defect by Samsung. The ribbon cable that connects the screen to the main unit gets worn out very quickly for some reason or another. Best advice is to sell it on before you end up with a dead screen.

I've this phone for about a year. 3 months after I bought it the camerra stopped to work ; after that the display stoopped and now everything don't work. So that I must buy new one - Nokia.
But when everything was working the phone was really gret. The sond , camera and GPRS were wonderful

Just got the white screen fault today after 14 months. My inner screen has now completely died so can't do much accept answer calls. If so many people have suffered the SAME problem than this is obviously a design defect which Samsung is responsible for. God knows how much the technician will charge to fix this :(

Stacey ring samsung up and they'l send u to a repair centre if the phone is under warranty its for free if not then its heaps pricey and ure probably better off getting something else.

Guys any1 out there looking into buy this phone i advise u NOT TO. Everyone is having the same problems i bought the fone and after 10 mnths same problem white screen and preview error wen using the camera i took it into the samsumg repair centre and got it fixed now im selling iT. STICK TO NOKIA GUYS ANY NOKIA PHONE IS MORE RELIABLE THEN SAMSUNG!!

im having the same problem as every 1 else, except i cant even see the screen now its just blank n can get my numbers out of the stupid fone. its like it had a few black outs n now its blind. has any one got a clue what i can do.

I've bought this phone about10 months ago. at start it really seem as a nice phone but 4 months after i started using it there were some problems. like the LCD .it started going white + that is really annoying. tehn i could not get a picture using its camera coz of the prevew error. now the screen is nearly always white +i cant get a picture. if any of u r interested of buying this phone DO NOT.because samsung SUCKS

i have had the phone for only 3 months and the problem with it is the front LCD and the inner one is broken, its too exepensive to repair asin change the LCD.what a useles phone,i want to buy Sagem my v-55,hope its okay.if any problem with that,pls let some1 who is caring email me wit ask4emeka2001@yahoo.com

Three months out of warranty (15 mths old) my screen went white - there were no warning signs. I had it charging one night, then opened it the next morning and it had turned into a paperweight. Luckily my 5-year-old Nokia was still working...
No warranty, so I opened it up and discovered the cabling had become worn - it's just not good enough. No more Samsung for me!

About the white of flashing rainbow screen, turning all black few days later....:
I've got the problem after 14 months of fine operation: pity, out of warrantee said the man, too expensive to repair, know the problem, but no move at all to a coulant solution. I opened (with some problems) the phone and noticed a broken strip in the multilayer flex connection between bottom and lid. (the lowest layer, just one strip, obvously a ground connector ((;-) mobile phone)and repaired it with a thin bypass and some solder. After assy the screen was all white, so I'd solver\d some but not all problems. Checked again and found minor cracks in all conductors of the flex (in total I'd gess 25% of some 60 leads and stopped the opertation.
I'm very disappointed that Samsung is not willing to solve this problem at split cost, as it's obviously a design failure of a 1 cent strip. For me no Samsung anymore!
(btw: in some countries it's illegal to limit the warrantee to a time period, much shorter than one may reasonably expect (it is in NL, the shop servant recognised, but simply invited me to go to court to get my rights!

hi guys,
if your screen turns white you have to bend the screen towards you, app 90 degrees, then the screen will work again, then navigate to the display menu and select a other background, for example bananas.. close the phone and open it again and it will work again. you will have to do this after every time the phone is switched off. good luck!

I have been using the mobile for over a year and a half.
Four months ago in camera mode the camera screen initally went all black so i was unable to use any camera at all. Okay I can live with that, after all it's a nice phone.
Two weeks ago, I've suffered the white screen affect. It has now become unuseable. It's like walking around with a home phone with no LCD display.
Gonna try and get the screen fixed and ebay it off to make some money off it. Good luck to whoever buys my phone :)

hi....
had exactly the same problems as you guys, screen goes white, green, then can't read anything. i rarely get the normal display now, and it is impossible to use. i e-mailed Samsung, and they were unwilling to co-operate as it is just over a year old. disgusting as it must be a manufacturing fault. what did you guys do next? buy a new phone?
