is the sound quality really as bad as everyone says?

I am now on my third replacement of this mobile from O2 who deny any knowledge of fault in the sound quality. All they want to do is send me yet another. Today I asked them to ring Samsung to find out for me, who also deny any problems with the phone sound quality. Unbelieving I telephoned Samsung myself they say they have not heard of any problems.
Such a shame look shape and user friendly phone - such a shame you cannot have a conversation on it!

Had phone 2 weeks -fantastic all round except audio quality when speaking to someone terrible -sent back to vodafone. Told that they have stopped selling it after only a month or two -presumably due to huge number of returns with audio problems -getting a D500!

where to start..
the speaker quality is alrite, u can hear good, but the thing is, the person you are calling cant here you properly, especially wen u're using a handsfree, its almost impossible to figure out wat you're saying.. i find that the worst quality of this fone
i was impressed by the video camera, its the best i've seen, but it takes up alot of space wen on maximum quality.
wen in the viewfinder mode (to take photo's) it seems very laggy, but wen u take the shot its clear.. its weird because its not laggy wen you switch over to video mode
im a fan of the e700 series, this one has the looks, but is a tad bigger than the e700 in size, im not sure about the screen losing its contrast, i do not trust it to have improved on this fone either, just be careful wen opening n closing the fone.
the way i copied music onto the phone, was have another phone with music + bluetooth(eg nokia 6230) and copy the songs thru bluetooth, takes about 2 minutes to copy a song.

hey.. can i noe if the shutter sound for the camera of this phone can be turned off?...and is the clicking sound of the keypad very loud?? someone pls answer me...thanks...

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if the Samsung E720 is better than the Sony Ericsson Z1010.I only have a Sony Ericsson T630 now , but i'd really like to get the Sony Ericsson Z1010's the only problem is its a little to big.But i also like the Samsung...so many decisions..Does anyone know if the Samsung E720 is in Australia yet?..Cheers!

i want to but this phone but i have one question.if you know there were some problems with the other models like E700 and E710,in time the contrast of the display was very poor and after a long time the contrast was lost and you could only saw a white LCD(i refer to the main LCD).If anybody can tell me if E720 has the some problem or it's better in this way.Thank you!

I upgraded from se k700i to samsung E720 but was a little worried about how the sound quality would be after reading others reviews. When it arrived sure enough the sound quality was not good,fuzzy,crackly, so have sent it back. K700i has been great so plan to upgrade to Se k750i instead. Really wasnt impressed with the phone in general.

I have just purchased this phone and i think its great! The price tag was a little high though at £250 but it was worth every penny. It has great features and i would recommend it to anyone!

hi jim bob.this phone can support up to 1836 characters for messaging. this is a great phone. i like the MP3, specially when u listen to it wearing the Samsung stereo headset.very cool! i also love the look.very elegant. and the colour brightness of the screen.

Ok guys, I think there are enough opinions about it. Let's solve some .mp4 problems on da phone.
Did someone of You sucessfuly played .mp4 on computer? Ok the move is well seen, but where is da f***in' sound?!!!! On phone mp4 plays well together with sound. But what about PC? What the sound codec is? I'm sick of searching for strange audio codec that uses this phone!!! HELP HELP HELP! :(

Hi all,
A little update for you all.
Used the phone the whole day today without issues. Bought myself a Jabra FS258 (called BT250 out of Asia), it paired without problems. I can use both Headset profile mode as well as Handsfree profile mode. The person on the receiving size could not tell if I was using a headset or not :-) While driving (and my car is pretty loud), the people I talked too did not noticed I was even driving... now I'm impressed (this is probably due to the headset's feature and also combined with the handset's voice clarity thingy being on... I think)
No sound issues, infact I would say the sound is very clear and sharp. Guess the unbranded ones are safe from the sound issues.
My gripe, as mentioned earlier... no ringing with vibration when using MP3... argh... well.. at least it is kind of solved when I have my headset on as it gives a few consistent beeps when I receive a call.
Well.. that's all for now... man I love my phone :-D (not as much as my girl though :-P)
