Just got this little devil - lots of great features!!
I have two questions:
1 How to add the number from an incoming sms to my address book? (contacts)
2 Is there a quick way to turn sound on and vibrating on (I normally have a loud ringer, and it is a bit silly to fiddle around in the menu with beeps and little sounds when entering "silent" space). I know about the sidebutton, but it would already be too late then :)
thanx
Pepe

E730 silver looks great for ladies like me, however, that color is not yet available here. Samsung Phils. should have the silver color made available the soonest.

i have been using E730 for a week now and generally i think its a nice phone and pretty cheap.
pros:
mp3
clear video recording
1.3 mp camera
colourful numbers
black (unique, i dont think silver flip phones are cool. everybody is using it. take a look at phones in japan. lots of colour to choose from.)
bluetooth
memory considered quite big without memory card
cons:
short battery life
fm radio sucks
can't see the screen under strong sunlight
external screen will switch off by itself after five second
no card slot

o i forgot to add, i get 40+ KB/sec when i transfer files!! dats faster than my adsl connection!! (some of you cud say i have a slow connection but yea..) and USB does not even come close to that :) just for ur info, the e730 has bluetooth v1.2 instead of v1.1 like in most fones (including d500) which means its faster:) but....my dongle is only 1.1....so it must mean the fone itself is fast....:S dunno.....however im happy:) used own a moto v525...dat piece of XXXX bluetooth speed...7KB/sec max? lame...and the chrome coating on moto phones seem to get scratched easily...my volume/voice/smart keys plus the directional key and the self-portrait mirror outside are all grey now...and the hinge is broken...mind you, i do take a gd care of my precious fones...i dont drop or throw it. anyways, my point is, i love my e730!! everyone shud get it!!!

i got this phone on fri last week and......im in love just like most of others who have this phone:) after d500 came out i was waiting to see if samsung wud come out with something greater (d500 is really good too of course:)) and they have. d500 in a smaller, clamshell casing with radio and better user interface. mind you, they have decided to change the software for e730 before they released the model to the d600 style instead of d500 style (which had the blue blob in the main screen making the wallpaper smaller and now e730 uses the full screen:)) k enough about how good the phone is cz is jst brilliant, i will move on to help out some of you guys who have troubles with the phone.
first of all, do not, i repeat, DO NOT use the USB cable they give you (if ur fone didnt come with one, don worry its not much useful anyway:)) as many people have suggested, buy a bluetooth dongle. i cant believe after years and years after bluetooth came out people are still asking how to upload stuff onto the fone with bluetooth. im sure if they could be bothered to try google it they'd b pros at bluetooth. after getting urself a bluetooth dongle, install the widcomm driver (if the dongle came with some other random software, download widcomm...dunno from where tho...) it's the best driver available. and if you r using windows xp with SP2, you have to tweak the windows a little. BEFORE U INSTALL THE WIDCOMM DRIVER, go to c:windowns/inf/ and find the files with bth.xxx there shud b a couple. (or mor..) change the names of the files to wateva so the windows cant access the files. (i just added '.bak' as the new extension) then its easy enough to figure out how to transfer stuff between the comp n the fone (just go to my bluetooth places - for those of u who have no clue)
now, as u guys have realised, you CANNOT transfer games using bluetooth :( however, i have come to gsmarena to shed a little sunlight:) http://315.fiberworld.nl/d500/ this side will give you COMPLETE guide on how to install games onto the phone. it was originally for d500, but as samsung fones share similar platforms, it works for e730 (and others i presume:)) i have 20 or so games on my fone n i still have 2 megs out of 4!!:D some of you will discover that the method doesnt work for you. i have failed under windows xp home sp2 (korean version) but when i did it under xp professional sp2 (english) it worked:) (same comp, two OS). so try it on diff comps. i hope this helped some of you:) once again, i love the phone!!!i had to play the mp3 like for an hour at max volume and leave the cam on for a few hours to completely drain the battery!! (i tried to charge fully/drain fully when i first bought it) anyways, byebye:)

First I'd like to thank both users for replying back to help out in connecting PC to Phone via USB. However I get an error message when I open the PIM& file manager. It says: Cannot open this port and it is switched in offline mode. How do I get the comp to recognize my phone? And how to I get it to switch online. Help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

while you are using the mp3 you can't access any other part of the phone, only if your using the fm radio can you go to other menues of the phone.
