I was curious about those who own this (I just got it, its coming in 2 days), have you guys figured a way to extract video from the phone? I had the e715, loved the pictures it took so I got a data cable to transfer files, flash, etc.

    My fingers are crossed.

Hey cloud, the "no card slot" is killing me. I want to take videos yet i want more than 10 songs on my phone.

If i add about 14 songs MAX, i cant do anything else. I wanted to take a simple picture, it said i didnt have enough memory.

Obviously i freed up some space, but i felt that i shouldnt have to do that.
I guess my next phone will have a card slot.

4 days now with this baby, it's a great phone although it's not Symbian based and, I think I have a lil' problem:

The speaker sound sounds a lil bit scratchy. Is that normal? I think the first 2 days it was a smooth sound and now when I turn the key volume to 5 (side buttons) every sound sounds scratchy, mp3, folder-closing sound, etc....

Is there anything I can do to enhance the sound quality? Is it normal? Or am I just paranoid?

Anyway. The design is very classy and the funcions very cool.

I have seen this phone advertised at www.mfone.com.au for $589 outright. This seems like a pretty good deal. Has anyone else brought through MFone? Are they good?

there are many shops that sells batt and desktop charger in manila...I think coz it's a big place and there's the dealer of samsung phones called First asia mobile...I think you'll find one there...

after purchasing the phone, i'm planning to find the battery and a spare batt charger.

                      good day!

                          Jtan,

Are you from Cebu? I'm originally from Cebu but I have been living in Australia for nearly 20 years now.

My turn to ask you this time, if it's okay with you?

My wife is going back to the Philippines in Cebu for a short visit about week. Can I get her to buy a desktop charger and a battery for this phone? Is it available in Cebu and how much would it cost me?

                          Please advise.

                            Jtan,

After the initial charging of 16 hrs. The normal charging depending on how long you have used the phone for a day. It may recharge your battery for an hr or more. It is hard to gauge the amount of time of how soon it will recharge. Depending on your usage.

Normal usage just using the phone and the text would recharge the battery for an hr and 30 mins.

                                Jtan,

Regardless of any batteries for the mobile phones. The initial charging will always be 16 hours. Otherwise, if you recharge your battery less than 16 hrs (because of your excitement to use the phone) the battery won't last long it will still work but not efficiently I am sure your talk time of the phone will deminish.

                                I hope this will help.

                                Cheers,

I haven't encountered any problem re text or email. I can send/receive email. I can save it as a draft for the time being. Everything work perfectly.

                                        To all Filipinos:

Buy this phone it's GREAT. I am based in Sydney Australia and this phone cost $639.00 outright.

I have been a Nokia and Sony Ericsson user and this is the first time I decided to buy a Samsung brand. At first, I was quite hesitant because of the brand but I can't be more happier. I thought I will be disappointed of my choice. Everything work perfectly. Considering of the price which is not costly and the features it does offer. MP3 play perfectly using it as a ringtone or for listening pleasure (music), Bluetooth is not an issue detects other devices quite easily, FM radio excellent clarity, Both the camera and video are great (with 90 MB memory plenty of pics or short clips you can store in the memory), Downloading files or musics from my PC to my phone using the USB cable I don't see any problem and the battery for me it last longer than I expected.

The only downfall is the document file that you download on the phone you won't be able to open the document file only for safe keeping - but who cares anyway?

So go for it - you will never go wrong with this phone
