        1. Can you play mp3's as the alarm or are they set?
        2. Does the phone have speakerphone?
Thank you for all of your help!!!

Recently purchased one, overall a good phone for the price; would recommend.
Will not concentrate on the goods points (of which there are many), will write more on disadvantages which potential buyer would not know about from ads and salespeople.
Good news first: Data cable and CD IS INCLUDED (no mention of this on box or brochure), reasonable price, reasonable amount of memory (not expandable, but for me didn't mind, keeps the dimensions small), small in size and no external extenna, the black is funky and stands out from the silver crowd, reasonable screen (Sharp GX25's still the best in my books).
Con's: no IrDA (why Bluetooth, but no IrDA, faster to establish connection with infrared, takes about 30sec just to establish a Bluetooth connection, although transfer speed is reasonable), why does Samsung persist with linking the centre pad button with WAP access (only on the home screen, within menus Samsung finally listened and made it the select button), contact book an improvement over previous samsung attempts, but still inferior to latest sonyericsson. T9 not default in phonebook entry, have to change each time. Short battery life. The external screen is very small, smaller than the similar E720 (80x64 vs 96x96), why Samsung? Can't turn on the flash in closed flip mode. Picture (1.3megapixel) from camera is still grainy (average to other company's).

your best bet buying this in the US is ebay. there are several sellers that sell them totaling (phone+s/h) around $370-$390 for these phones.

hi guys, i got the black glossy one from hong kong and the key pad does light up in blue. basically, i agree this is a cool phone to own but again, as i have mentioned in my earlier message, the battery runs out pretty quick if you use different functions a lot. other than that, i just love this phone.
