Can we set the photos which we take as wallpaper? Is the sound quality good and how are the games in this phone? I am considering to buy samsung for the 1st time. I've always used nokia. Which one is better samsung E840, D900i or U600?

hai anyidea on setting the caller ringtone...
In musicplayer there is an option for this..but no success...
any help on this....

i work for orange and it is still available. the ebay manager was prob lying cos he didnt have it in stock

hey, after receiving images via bluetooth the phone wont allow me to open them up and is saying that the image is 'not allowed.'does anyone know what the problem is n help me out with accessing the images please??

hey, i've asked so many questions! good they've been answered BUT... i have one more...can i use this phone as a mass storage device on any computer? (just like a usb stick)
this phone seems to have issues and the next phone that seems cool is the W880i which doesn't have a problem and is user friendly and can take any application or game or theme but it costs double the amount!!
SO maybe it's worth living with a cheap, sexy e840 that has a few faults and it's sexy but only has 2 themes to chose from

i've had this phone for two weeks now and it is truly a remarkable phone. the last samsung phone i had was the d410... so much has changed since then, and all for the better. well done samsung!

The phone is good abt its look and beauty. But some features which are expected to be there which are not available. e.g. it doesn't take the music and photos for ur caller tune and caller image from the external memory rather it accepts only from the default folders of internal phone memory, though some low end samsung phones having the facility of mapping directly to external card memory.
As some have already mentioned that the left hand top softkey becomes unresponsive sometimes, the same thing also happens to me.
While recharging the battery for first somedays the battery charger indicator was showing as fully charged. But now a days after charging for around 5 to 6 hours also the indicator is not showing as fully charged. My mobile is only 25 days old.
Can anybody tell whether there is a fault in battery or something else.
Can anybody tell me whether there is any wayout to map the external memory to the caller tune and caller images.
And also if anybody has noticed or not there is a mention of flash light in the catalogue for the camera. But really it is not available with the set.

Have my E840 now for sometime only issue I have is that the memory card does not show up in Samsung PC Studio 3. So far no issues with any of my buttons and using firmware E840XXGD6.

@sofee what do you mean you can't delete a mistake?
Whats wrong with the hangup C button (buttom right on slide) ? Works for me..Also if you read the manual it give's you detail there..;)

Hi wondering if you can help. I bought my phone about a month ago My E840 rings extremely quietly. I have it on its highest volume but its so quiet... strange thing is it never used to be... any idea what i have done??

I got this phone today and so far so good, only problem is tho, the text messaging. I dont know which key pad to use to delete, when i make a mistake there is no button to correct it? also it only types in predictive text but i cant use this, why is this the only option? please help?

This phone is good, but lot of business restrictions for users. You cannot install other Java applications which you have brought earlier even though the model supports the version of MIDP! Samusung is trying to make money here again from the user to force them to buy from their website and then charge for it. Java apps can only be downloaded by GPRS or other means, you only have to stick to the applications provided by Samsung, which does not sound good for a user. This is what I heard from Samsung customer care in Singapore. I would not recommend people this phone, who would love to develop their own applications. Nokia is good in this case, they know how to keep their end customer happier. I am quite upset after I brought this phone.

Another thing... can anyone tell me how to keep the keypad unlocked while on a call... coz, when the call ends, first the pad needs to be unlocked and then the call can be ended...! Also, I couldnt figure out how to install new apps(or java games) by downloading these thru a PC...any ideas anyone?

Hi, i just bought the e840 a week ago, and it sure's a gr8 piece of work. However, THE TOP LEFT SOFTKEY, sometimes becomes unresponsive after keeping it in the pocket for a while. After, about an hour or so, it returns back to normal feather-touch. Is this a problem with just my phone, or has anyone else also experienced this ??
