I bought this phone in London last week. It is great. I had this great theme of London as background. Now I returned to Austria and got the background of Salzburg. It is nice too but I would prefer to keep the London background. Can anybody tell me how to do this. thanks a lot ...

can someone out there please tell me how I can get the internet to work. I have tried inputing all the information manually, but I am still getting a DNS error. I don't have a DNS # for my other browser for AT&T. What's the problem?

dis is tulip....well i bought dis phone when it was just launched in india...it was brand new then.the style,i must say is ravishing.this phone has now bcum a part of my life...the pic quality is amaaaazing.and what i like the most is the phonez privacy.overall e840 is just gr8!!!!!!

I got this phone yesterday due to an upgrade from a previous samsung. The phone looks great, and is easy to use, however i am having a few problems with it, some have already been mentioned previously. For example, the left touch screen button is very unresponsive, and requires quite a hard push to make it work. Ive heard this may be a common fault??? (rathjer annoying) Also my other problem is writing text messages. For some reason it seems rather slow, and cannot keep up with my typing. Has anyone else noticed this? My vivid messages dont seem to come up with images, only the text????
On the whole it works well, but i just find it rather slow. People have been mentioning about a london theme, mine doesnt seem to have this - can anyone tell me how to get it?

there is a option for either record a video till full memory or limit it for enough memory for sms messages!! sorry i dont know how long but that is all i know. the video time depends on how much memory you have.

if you dont like big phones this fone is not for you!! it is bigger than it looks in pictures or on tv. it may be a cm thick but boy it is big (in length ways)!!!! so you have been warned. but it is still a cool phone.by the way this particular phone has a problem with the top left touch key. this problem is with ALL phones!!!
If you buy this phone in the uk it is around about £100. the back ground them in the uk is big ben, but if you do go to a different country the countrys land mark will show on the phones main wallpaper/theme.
hopefully this anwsers all your questions.

I had a motorola krzr on contract for 18 months and Im sick of it and I still have 8 months left So I have to cancel my contract. There is no way Im having a moto again.
As for Nokia's I really get confused on them.
Same with sony ericson
Samsungs are the best and easiest phone for
me.

melisa? If you wanted a decent phone do not get the Lg as i have heard they are not a particuarly good make. Out of samsung and Lg then it would be samsung all the way. Of course if you wanted a really good brand, it would have to be nokia, as you can literally do anything to them and they'll survive it, thats the beauty of them! Never go for a motorola as they usually have bad battery and poor memory....

If you are in England and buying it on contract its free but every month you have to pay a certain amount each month?

xyz why don't you take the time to read your phones manual all details are within.
Yes you can use mp3 as ring tones copy to phones memory more details in manual.To end a call close slide if default setting not changed or press i button on d pad then the end call button on phone.

just got the samsung E840 and everytime i ring someone it shows up saying on their phones "private number" all the time so i found where you can change so your number will show up which is under "settings"- "network"- "caller ID" then gives you 3 options, "default","hide number"and "show number, default and hide number are hightlighted but show number is not highlighted(in Grey)and will not allow me to click on to change. people have told me default option can show number on another persons phone but it wont???
how do i set it to show number when it won't let me,please help??

I found the sound quality to be really great. It plays just as well as my computer plays mp3s. Well really close anyways. I haven't found any problems with the touch screen, and the sliding is perfect for me. It's not too stiff or loose. As for charging, I didn't charge for 8 hours beforeing the first time using it like you're suppose to,.. so it quickly died on me. I just charged it during my sleep yesterday and I've had my phone on for a little more than 24 hours and it hasn't dropped one bar yet.

Really really need help pls!my E840 camera does not work at all. it looks find on screen during veiwfinding but once captured, the resolution, the colour and basically the whole image becomes so bad - pixellated, 'running' colour etc. anyone can advise on the setting? otherwise, i will have to send this one-month phone for service. thanks lot!
