To Dan:
Well the 'white' version is -to my knowledge- the version you can see at the picture on the right called “White Silver”.
White interior, and light gray front and back (so called silver).
There should be six variants
“White Silver” and “Ice Blue”
Both available (eg. checkout ebay), and
“Mirror Silver”, “Valentine Pink”, “Champaign Gold”, “Platinum Red”
Haven't seen thoose for sale anywere (yet).
I can recomend the phone highly (even though I bought it with wrong firmware).

Great small phone!
Howqever I errornously bought it with asian firmware. I found the european firmware s3.
Can anyone tell if it can be flashed using :
a) the microsd (like many cameras) ?
b) the accompaning usb cable (this does NOT power the phone) ?
[I've tried a handfull of different softwares with the usb-cable]

got the phone today on O2 in the UK. all is good. I wanted a small light functional phone to replace my bulky 6680 and this little beauty is. Its light and small and does exactly what it says on the tin.
the best thing i like about this samsung is that in quiet mode, you can turn the vibration off so it is totaly silent.

Hey, was wondering what it's like to use? I've currently got an Ericsson K750i but I've ordered the Samusung. Are the features as good? How about games and the fiddly stuff? Thanks

Hi everyone,
I'm going to the States, specifically to the north. I was just wondering since the E870 is a tri-band phone...it should be able to be used there right? I'll be buying it in Singapore though..

Hi Genetico,
Thanks for your questions - Only too happy to help.
As yet I have not experienced any problems with the navigation keys being too close together, surprisingly as the "cancel" key is soooo slim its hardly there.
I am not quite sure what you mean about the phone snapping at your fingers but I have not come across anything problematic when opening this phone. At the moment I amjust getting into opening it with my thumb rather than the opposite hand - if you know what I mean. I hope this helps ?!
Its a great phone and I am loving it. Thumbs up to Samsung!

Hi Terri, thAnks for all the helpful info. :o)
I tried a dummy model at one of the handphone shops. The navigation buttons (4-directional ones + the OK button) are spaced quite closed together. Do you experience any problem when SMS-ing ?? (as you might accidentally pressed the OK button when you press the navigation buttons or vice versa.)
Does the hinge-joint snap at your fingers if your fingers are placed at the top of the phone when you flip it open ???

Hiya Irma,
I only got the phone yesterday but I had around 35 SMS in the Inbox and it was still letting SMS in. It did come up once or twice that the SMS memory was full but it didnt create any problems and it let more SMS in after that. My old phone - Samsung E530 -used to have that message appear but sometimes I could have up to 150 SMS in the inbox. The odd time I ended up with a flashing envelope which prompted me to take out some messages but I have never really had an issue with the Inbox backing up.
With regards to your vibration question - the phone has a setting whereby it vibrates 3 times before the tone comes through.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any more help.
T x
P.S I am no longer deleting messages so I can see exactly how many it will hold.

Hi Terri,
Can you tell me how many sms you can save on the phone? I read somewhere only about 15.
And do you know or the vibaration function works at the same time as the ringtones? Some older models did that only with a few tones.
Thanks! Kind regards Irma
