I had two of these phones in a two month period. I like the features, and have no problems with the touch pad. I believe this could be one of the best phones ever but the actually build quality affects my opinion. Although due to negligence, the first E900's LCD cracked when I sat down with it in my back pocket. Unless I have been gaining lots of weight, I really don't see this should have been a problem. My L7 SLVR, countless Nokias in fact enjoyed the comfort of my back pocket with no problems. My second e900 just failed me due to it not charging. It just stopped charging. Since I still have the broken first one, I traded out the batteries and charger with no luck. It was fortunate my American Express covered my first purchase, but they are unwilling to cover it the second time around. Unfortunately this is my first few Samsungs and with the experience I will not go with it again. I will have to stick my my Nokia’s or venture to Sony Erricsons. This phone is great otherwise, maybe if you baby it – but I simply cannot see it be done. Also last but not least YOU CANNOT TURN OFF THE LCD WHEN YOUR CHARGING! It is annoying when you sleep.

I've had my E900 for about 4 months now and so I thought it was time to write my thoughts. So I don’t need to tell you it looks really cool but what you don’t know is it feels really cool too, the slider is smooth, the screen is great and the touch buttons are sleek.
The menus are easy to get around you can use shortcuts or the touch keys which is a nice addition to trolling through. The camera is also very good and you have lots of option, but if your going to take pictures or video buy an micro SD card as the phone memory will soon but taken up. Another nice feature is the picture editor built into the phone which allows you to can add some nice effects to your pictures. The MP3 player is nice and quick to load and the controls for the MP3 player are also touch buttons that light up when it's in MP3 mode. There are also a number of little features which really add to this phone, txting is easy and the vivid mode for reading txt is gimmicky but cool. The applications are also great too with a great converter for weight, length, volume, area, temperature and currency. The games included on mine where ok but most of them are only limited trials.
So that’s the good stuff out of the way. Unfortunately there are some things that seriously spoil this phone. The battery life is shocking, be ready to charge it every two days and that’s not with heavy usage. The touch sensitive keys are in the wrong place if your right handed, the cancel button is so easy to catch with your thumb and even now after months of having this phone I still get caught every now and then, this simple little design feature lets the phone down. The sound from the phone also isn't the best, you can have MP3's as ring tones but to be honest the sound is that bad through the speaker it's embarrassing. The phone also seems to struggle with weak signals, I'm with Vodafone in the UK and I struggle getting any kind of reception in the office. I’ve tested with friends phones, and it’s partly the phone but mostly Vodafone. I tested with a D600 on Vodafone and it had 2 bars, I also tested with another E900 on orange and they had 5 bars, this is when I had no signal and no service, not all the E900 fault but worth you knowing it the signal in your area isn’t great. So all in all the phone looks great and has some great features but the shocking battery life, poor sound and frustrating layout of the touch sensitive keys really take the shine off of this phone.

Bec, unfortunatley you cannot put an o2 sim card or any other network sim card into any tesco mobile handset as they are locked to tesco mobile, despite the fact that Tesco is run by O2. (uses the o2 network signal, problably has O2 staff manning call centres etc). Strangely, you can put a tesco mobile sim into a locked O2 mobile but not the other way round. However, tesco mobile network is not bad atall so at that price its probably worth getting!
