I've been trying to search the net for a firmware upgrade but I can't find any.
This phone sucks big time!!! I transferred a file to the mem card but know I cant see it on the big screen even though the folder I placed it shows a file.
Samsung should recall all this damn phone's...

really sux.hard to use.
buy it = waste money.
i used it just for 1 day and i had enough the crap.
returned it already.-_-

No! the phone is not, the HW is amazing!
It is only the user interface. Symsung could easily enhance the phone SW, release a new file that we could flash (update the old OS) and therefore get a much better device. The HW is ready, and I personally do not believe there is a need to change it (except to increase the battery life and the speaker loudness a bit).
So, all-in-all, if samsung would make a page where we could download the lated OS release (as Nokia does with the 770 and 800 devices at maemo.org)
than we would have a device with a long-long lifetime, couz it is mostly SW what matters!!!!

i think that this phone talk time is too short. the ringing volume on this phone is too low and you cannot set mp3 ringtones as text message alerts.it is difficult to use and the baterry life is too short sumtimes the phone does nt want to end the calls.

How long does it take to type "google.com"?

Samsung, pls consider the feedback on this forum
this is the only way you can enhance your products.
Your user interface is just not good enough!!!
7. No MP3/Radio playback while searching the Calendar or watching photos!
8. No notepad reader on the big screen side!
9. No sms writing on the big screen side, however it would be fun by using the keyboard from the previous point..
10. No Bluetooth Keyboard support: the phone just does not recognize my Nokia SU-w7 wireless keyboard!!!!
11. Only a short list of predefined functions can be assigned to the hot keys (in this case the cursor arrows). Example: Bluetooth on/off cannot be assigned, but searching a BT device: yes. Why????
Do I do pairing more often then activating the BT?

Hope this helps to decide people before buying the
F300-F500 line, and also hope, Samsung is listening! aND WILL enhance their machines..
Still, as said, the HW could have a muuuuch better SW!!! ciao!

do you know why some people like the phone and others not? coz the HW is good but the SW (more precisely the User Interface) is really baaad.
yes.
bought the phone a month ago for Eu 400 and here is a short list of bugs I noticed till now:
1 the big screen is meant for Web Browsing, but when the machine is switched to the big screen and the touchpad side (only one disply can be active at a time!) there is no option to start the browser!!! simply no icon for it on the apl list of that side. so you need to reactivate the small screen, go into manü and stert the browser. then syou are redirected to the big screen again. ok.
2. the Yes/No buttons on the MediaPlayer side are as follows:
Yes = |>| (forward) Why is the Yes pointing into the past and No in the future?
3. let'assume the phone is in silent mode. but you
switch to the media player side, choose the media player, try to start it and te phone asks:
"Play Music in Silent Mode?" - Why? Oh, Why this question everytime?
4. Scrolling is very-very slow when searchin a song
from a huge list! search by click mopves the cursor one down, search-by-crolling moves 2 items down!!
is not it a LITTLE few in case of a huge amount of titles? Why not to move 5 or 10 down when sliding
the finger on the touchPad?
5.the Escape button's position is really baad
and can be touched accidentally when finally scrolling to one of the 1200 songs as in point 4.
Now there should be a question "quit?"
And the Yes button should be on the right side

why o why samsung, ive had this handset in my shop for far to long now, only just today was i able to give it away with a low tarrif just to get rid of the thing!! the phone only has a 2 line screen read for text msg's, the MP3 player is fun but come on, its ugly and shameful to own one, not the best phone from samsung and IT SUCKS BIG BIG BIG TIME!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHONE

It is the best phone i ever had.even today i still wake up to make sure it is still by my side.the sound of the music is very nice and the pictures very clear.i also love the battery backup pouch

According to the opinion I posted on 2-august, I got the phone back from Samsung. The upgraded the firmware for the 2nd time and the issue is fixed now. So it confirms there are issues with the firmare. The problem you can encounter :
- The tracks disappear from the MP3 side
- The pics stored and taken cannot be displayed
- Failing when trying to capture videos

Can you store wallpapers in any of these two screens coz I hate the purple colour on the mp3 side and why doesn't this fone have option of ring & vibrate?

LOVE the phone, its small and looks good but i'm abit dissapointed that it has no games and no calculator and also its got a calender but it just has the dates and no days so i think thats pretty useless. i've also had it for about 2 and a half months and i still cant figure out how to text on the touch screen side.
other then that i love it!

yes, you can take and browse photos with the mp3 side of the phone...good quality..i get mine in a week....wooohhooooo!
