Chelsea, 29 Oct 2008First, my friend had this phone and I thought it was amazin... moreI simply hate this phone. I have the phone for 2.5 months. It has been to Samsung twice already. It looks good but it is far from effective.
I had the very same issues. Currently the phone is at Samsung coz it refuses to work. I can switch on but the touch screen does not work.
I do not want this phone back

RAP, 01 Nov 2008I enquired about the phone at MTN, the sales rep said that ... morei would like to know more about the recall by MTN, i have a F700 MTN version. I have it for just over 5 weeks now and it already spent 2 weeks at the MTN service center to get a "software" upgrade. Please tell me more about this,,,,

people in the us keep moaning why buy it locked to network with awfull software in the uk u can get 1 on contract but its unlocked so the networks havnt bugered it up

I enquired about the phone at MTN, the sales rep said that the phones have been recalled due to software issues on the Network, it seems that Samsung has issues with MTN, I have the Samsung D900 which I got with a Vodaom weekend everyday contract, the phone works fine with Vodacom, but once I use an MTN Sim Card the phone has issues, during calls the phone restarts or shuts off or freezes up, this is not the first time I have had problems with Samsung phones, I have the samsung E370 which also has problems on the MTN network, I think Samsung and MTN should get together and discuss the issues. I would rather stick with NOKIA or SonyEricsson.

I love this phone all you people who says its a crap phone you dont know how to work it.my only problem is it doesnt have radio other than that I LOVE IT.CHEERS

First, my friend had this phone and I thought it was amazing. I played around with it and loved the design and the idea of the phone. I fell in love with it.
When I bought it for myself, the first month was great. But after a while, the touch screen started to freeze, the front main-button would stop working sometimes, the camera isn't so good, and it's just a very slow phone.
During a call, you can't touch the screen unless you press the middle button, so I'll try doing it, and it doesn't work. The phone has its moments of freezing and it actually drives me nuts! I've only had the phone for three months now and I'm looking into buy a new phone.
Out of ten, I'd give this phone a 4.5

Some online stores say this phone has MP3 ringtone cabapilities and some stores say it does not. Can someone who has the phone tell me if you can use the mp3 tunes for the ringtone?

I took my phone for a software upgrade at MTN Service Center and they quoted me a week to two weeks (at least it is free). But they cannot garentee that Java will work. I will keep you posted on whether or not a software upgrade from a MTN Service Center is the solution to you problem!

Hello everybody...
I purchased the Samsung F700v last week and i have not as yet had any problems with the phone what so ever, and am enjoying the touch screen, cant seem to put this phone down, Will kepp everyone updated as it seems that MTN users are having big problems, i am how ever Vodacom. Just try to remember that Samsung does give a 12month Guarantee on this phone and 6months on the battery. So if you are having any problems take it back to the store where you bought it and they have to sort the problems out free of charge. I almost guarantee that all the phones that are coming out in this new style are all having some sort of problem with software, touch screen and so on, they are NEW after all. Just like when the slide phones came out there were similar problems, just try keep this in mind when purchasing any of the new style phones from samsung, HTC, Sony Ericsson and Even Nokia and ETC.
