The review does point out that the "Xenon flash is disappointing" and the "optical zoom noticeably reduces picture quality." What is the point in having OZ if the picture quality is no better than digital zoom? OZ on phones has always been a challenge. Nokia's N93 had OZ and it worked for both camcording and photography. It is not clear whether the same holds for the G810. It may only work for stills only. The N93 had a problem with the mechanical sound of the OZ being recorded with the video. Later firmware now partially muted the sound. If OZ can be used while camcording in the Samsung I wonder how they will circumvent that problem? Perhaps the problems with OZ compelled Nokia to leave the feature out of both the N82 and the N95 8GB. A first class OZ system may be too expensive to implement on a phone. Many may not be willing to pay. Samsung may well be compelled to place a budget version of OZ which may well irritate rather than irradiate customers. Anyway it is a brave try by Samsung. Though the OZ "noticeably reduces picture quality" I hope the 3*OZ is noticeably better than 3*digital zoom otherwise its inclusion is pointless.
I do not see any info in the tech specs about the RAM available, the type of GPS chipset (obviously it is not SiRF Star III), or the processor used.

well done samsung, you produced an exact copy of the n95, except 3 years later. all you have proved from this is that you're 3 years behind nokia!

surely the guy who commented about samsungs being ahead, its true...the p9000, the 10mpx b600, the 8mpx 11.5mm samsung and the new camera module of 8mpx, and the first ph0ne to hav a hard-disk...

nokia lovers are seriously angered with this ph0ne...and that shows how much the g810 shall claim the top spot...with the best sound, n tft resolution, n0kia lovers cant help themselves out after they rebranded the n95 with n96...

And did you know why nokia can't penetrate the japan and korea market? Its because who'll going to enjoy a mobile phone which is a decade behind with what they have.

Very true. Nokia die hards doesn't do research when it comes to mobile technology. Japanese and korean mobile phones is way ahead of the pack. Nokia technology today were the thing of the past in japan and korea. And some people here has the nerve to claim otherwise. That's what you get for being a fanatic..your becoming ignorant.

Nokia hail it as the most successfull smart phone ever and rightfully so. Althou most of the share market treaded watter for all of last year, go look at Nokia's share value after the 1'st of April.
