this phone isn't good or bad (decent). it works well for doing the basics functions and so on. it can play games fairly good from my experience, (runs great ''mostly'') (however the 1 problem is that after any update happens it will become choppy and slow down so be prepared to backup and reset the phone and wipe cache to fix that problem. also sadly the phone is limited to 32gb storage and 2gb ram at most so yeah. rooting it in general wont work 100% because from what I heard is that you lose wifi connection on it. ( I didn't test the root for myself on the A01 so it maybe, not true but still is a risk) overall from 2 years experience the phone is annoying but works with fixes. (highly recommend you buy another budget phone but the A01) but no hate on the A01 its a working phone that has minor issues of performance and lowish storage. :)

Hands down, the worst phone EVER!
Crappy internal memory, that runs out whenever you start using the phone as a regular smartphone...installing a few useful apps. A touchscreen that has rubbish sensitivity, and a truly shit battery.
I foolishly bought this phone 'cos my real phone fell in the toilet, and died. A bad purchase. NEVER BUY A SAMSUNG A01, IT'S A SHIT PHONE.

Anyone having this intermittent restart issue after the latest update?
There's no problem when update to android 11. It's the latest security update which caused it to restart once every 1 or 2 days.

It's a freakin 60 bucks smartphones, go for root and uninstal bloatware u don't need, use adopt external storage for more space to carry ur selfie and swap memory for better multitasking. I've using this A01 for 1 year and it's working perpect as my secondary phone with my Redmi Note 5 Pro, it's small, minimalist, and it's cheap. 3000 mAh is shit, but it's fine since i'm only use it for youtube, spotify, twitter and whatsapp. Still recommend this if u a creative bullshit with 100$ in ur pocket.

What is the point of the non-removable battery? Seriously!? It makes no sense. My phone just start to freeze and I simply want to restart it by removing the battery. Why they make this phone so complicated? I find that it should be a simple thing to remove the battery.

NB: don't touch anything else on developer's options unless only if you know what you're doing and if you wanna keep using the feature do not turn it off. Hope this helps.

Now tap Back twice it will go back to SETTINGS, now below ABOUT PHONE you'll see DEVELOPER OPTIONS open it and scroll down until you see APPS, under Apps read every word until you see FORCE ALLOW APPS ON EXTERNAL, enable it and close settings. Now you'll be able to install app on the SD

I cant move any apps to sd card, because that feature entirely disabled on the device, that's a bad move for a phone that only has 16gigs of storage, albeit it's now a $40 phone

Got it for $21 us on Verizon side. Had to pay a month of service to turn it on. It reminds me of the old Android phone I use to have. Was going to use it for scanning barcodes. The camera is so bad I had to go back to my trusty Moto G7 power.
