In my country, many retail shops would sell them removed from the box. Then, they would refurbish phones like the Samsung A04, changing the parts with lousy ones. A few months later, the phones would lag, hang, not work properly etc. This practise is common globally. That would explain why some people complain about poor performance and blame it on Samsung! Lesson? Don't buy phones with opened boxes.

This phone nice to be a secondary phone and a04 are similarity to a03s from 2021 in terms of all spec except camera. Other than that is 100% same. This how samsung do marketing.

It really is a terrible phone in it's current state, after some time with it I have had nothing but frustration, it's a lagging mess it's incredibly frustrating to use and it's so slow really slow I have even gone into developer settings and tweeked things.
Now I have inspected the outside of the phone and it's got some blemishes on back and scratching around the pill shaped camera housing and I am nothing but careful with my phones this says to me the plastic used is incredibly cheap.
Also the writing below samsung on the back is faded and not readable how on earth does that happen it's only a few weeks old.
The A03 is miles better than this Samsung have really messed up here.

I have actually owned (and suffered through) a phone with the Exynos 850 and while it got hot while gaming in 35°C heat (around 45°C), for the typical use case like web browsing or movie streaming, it never got uncomfortable to the touch. Have you owned a phone with the Exynos 850? Or were you just basing your opinion on other non-Exynos 850 phones?

The Exynos 850 is better than the P35 in almost every single way, smaller node (more efficient, less heat), better A55 cores vs A53 (but no big.LITTLE config with 2.3 GHz and 1.8 GHz, only 2GHz which still performs better), and a better GPU.

The A03 is better I have both and this is very slow and laggy also drinks battery the A03 is a better one to have.

Ive had a few exynos based phone before that had died due to overheating that damaged the motherboard.

exynos is way better than mediatek. at least the kernel source code (and then custom roms) are available for exynos, cant say the same about mediatek. plus the Helio P35 performs similarly to the snapdragon 801 in my 2014 galaxy s5...
