I have this phone and I can say it's worth to get for a starter phone but over time it starts to show its bad stuff it has this phone wasn't made to load stuff much in so after getting this phone and getting used to it go get a more new phone because there way better

It just a single cluster GPU with maybe 32 ALUs or shaders clocked at 650MHz to give about at least 41 GFLOPS of performance inside the P22 chipset. But other than that, Samsung didn't optimize the GPU properly when the A10s was under Android 9 because the GPU itself was missing a Vulkan driver, at least in my experience. I can't say if that's the reason why your device doesn't render stuff as describe but it might be but there can be other factors. Especially when the P22 chipset itself is showing age. Also i don't know about newer phones that are coming out with Cortex-A53, when all I'm seeing is at least Cortex-A55 cores, working in conjunction with either relatively powerful cores like Cortex-A76/78 (like in my device current chipset Exynos 1330) or higher end cores like Cortez-A500/A700 series. Cortex-A53 is pretty much almost extinct.

I have this phone and the A10. Both are the 2/32 version. I bought it very cheap because the power and low volume button was not working. I was able to get new parts for less than $2 US. I now use it as an emergency phone synced to my primary phone. Ive upgraded to Android 11 and all possible updates.
What people here fail to understand is this A model is the budget line of Samsung, so complaining about your game not playing well is not the phones fault, its you for even trying! I only use this to browse, watch a movie or some social media, call and text and it work great. I even use it design AI art(its an app) and it works with minimal lag. Data and wifi works well too. I installed a small 16GB SD card to move pictures and files so I wont use all of the 32G of this phone also.
Know the limits of this budget phone and you wont have much to complain about. Oh, picture wise its acceptable but dont compare it with new phones.

Starjack, 11 Jul 2024The device was really hampered by the update of the OS to A... moreI get that the P22 debuted in 2018, but if only the GPU was a ARM Mali GPU like a Mali-G52 or G71 maybe it would've perform better in loading apps and rendering simple tasks. This PowerVR GPU just doesn't work. It gives no performance help, and I know this while playing games like Roblox as an example, the simplest there is. The GPU just refuses to render, the CPU shown bad throttling boosted up to red latency while testing Jailbreak, while the GPU just showing 0 latency, which means it doesn't process anything hence the graphics aren't gonna be good even if you set it at max. I don't know if this GPU is a single core or dual but it just doesn't work. It's the main culprit of it slowing down very badly. Cortex-A53 is still okay as some of the newer cheap phones still use them for the smaller cores. But this PowerVR GPU is just a no no.

The phone started slowing down and even randomly rebooting after the Android 11 update even though the hardware is still good. Planned obsolescence I guess

I know this because i used to have this device and it was performing better under Android 10. So I don't think is the GPU fault alone although the whole SoC is very old and not up to task, unless is for really simple task. Not to mention the device only has 2 or 3GB of RAM with slow eMMc 5.1 speed that multitasking becomes of helluva of thing for it. Thank goodness i don't have this device anymore but currently own a A14 5G with Exynos 1330 which is a more powerful chipset than the Helio P22 of this phone.

MyStuffYT, 17 Apr 2024this phone doesn't really work well. its laggy, overh... moreWell I probably used to have the most optimized A10s because the last time I checked on 3DMark it scores 290 which is an excellent joke for 2024 but it is what it is. It scores better score than the Exynos 850 Android 14 A14 4G which it only gets 180. What I did is that I factory reset the whole phone and downgraded to Android 9 One UI Core 1.1 then turned off every Google related services, as well as turning off auto-sync and uninstalling almost every single app+bloatware. I've also tweaked some Developer Options to give out the best. I rooted the phone to overclock it, and it did at some point reach 44°C. I plan to install either LineageOS with Android 13/14 in it or stock Android 9 for better smoothness. It's only the 2/32 though, I don't know if the 3/32 would be any better.

its laggy, overheats too much, battery dies quickly
after android 11 update it became the laggiest
you cant root on android 11, so you have to downgrade to 10.
back camera easily breaks it only broke on a door
though the only quality it has is it's like a nokia it never breaks

I've been using this phone 2-3 months after It's release and I can say from the 5 years of experience this phone has served me well, at some point very bad though in the past 2-3 years. Because it has been slowing down rapidly and It's not up to date anymore. The GPU is the main culprit of the phone slowing down badly. It's just not up to the standards of today's rendering processes. Aside from the CPU/GPU, RAM/ROM, The eMMC 5.1 storage type is also one of the main reasons to avoid or swap this phone.

Aside from those that bought it since day 1 of release, why do people still use this? Talking to those who buy it years later. There are better cheaper phones to buy now.
