I just bought the A12 earlier today and so far it has performed as I had expected it. Most people here are expecting more, but IMHO, they are asking for too much. If they wanted something that has superior camera quality, I think I even read someone comment that A12 is the worst because it doesn't have 4k... I mean come on. Literally, you are asking for hand outs!
My suggestion? Set your expectations correctly based on the price value of the phone. Do not ever expect Mid - High range specs in a Budget - Mid phone. If it does have something that belongs to a Mid-High spec, then it has to compensate somewhere else.
There are of course a lot of better and more affordable alternatives in the market. The thing is most people would look into the brand as brand does carry it's weight. I am not saying that Samsung, Apple, or other big brands are thriving with fanboys. But rather, the trust people has in the brand for quality. Be reminded, that quality is not really measured with how exceptional a phone performs, although it is a plus in my book, but rather how well made and how reliable it is. Especially when it comes to tech support down the road. I have my fair share of brands I have used and mostly I had Xiaomis and Huawei. However, with Huawei losing google apps is rather a big blow, and Xiaomi, although it has excellent specs per price point vs other brands, doesn't really have a reliable tech support here in our country. There is tech support, but it takes too long if you need to have the phone sent over for repairs. Samsung, on the other hand, has a lot of service centers. In fact, it has saturated our place quite a bit. So you have the ease of mind that you can have it fixed ASAP should the need arise.

I was considering between this and the nokia 5.4 (they were at the same price).
The nokia 5.4 is the winner. And indeed an amazing phone!

1. Most apps are optimized for samsung's s-series (both snapdragon and exynos variants) and the cheaper models are just afterthoughts.
2. Its got a mediatek P series and you know mediatek has terrible optimization, you would at least be better off with a snapdragon 450 or 460. Reason is even in snapdragon 439 multitasking is a breeze and comparable to that of say, Apple's A9 found in the iPhone 6S. For daily uses such as social media it is recommended you buy a cheap phone but it should at least have a snapdragon chip (better multitasking, better heat management, much better GPS accuracy than mediatek.) Mediatek at this price range wont be good except P60 , G85 models and above

Very disappointed just bought phone today and its crap in many ways. Some apps which run well on my old Galaxy S6 run very laggi on A12. Before i bought the handset was watching reviews based on them i through ith should be a decent phone but not!! Will try to take it back tomorrow and buy something else. And if you are camera man then irs not for you either coz camera its shit being 48mp

Guys please do not buy! I do not see any issue with
the display but a friend of mine purchased an a12 and the selfie camera is really bad. The selfie looks like just a white cloudy mess. Should be a crime to sell these kinds of products in 2021.
