Bought this phone a month ago, and just realized that this phone doesn't have OTG function. So sad.

ordered this from MetrobyTmobile, free after $239 instant rebate (just have to pay for 1st month service)

allegedly it unlocks after 180 days after activation.

i hope it comes with the chipset that has the FM radio.

Seems like soon the budget phones will morph into 7 inch tablets. Is that what most buyers like these days??

Anonymous, 20 Mar 2023The problem is when people buy budget phones they expect a ... moreNo. It's not the battery that makes the phone so big.

The M14 is a similar size (slightly smaller in fact) and it has an even bigger 6000 mAh battery. The A54 (and others) is smaller than the A14 and it also has a 5000 mAh battery.

For every person that comes on here lamenting the lack of smaller budget phones, there are thousands of readers silently agreeing. Many of them considering a Google Pixel, or a compact device from another manufacturer that isn't a staggering $800 (like the small Samsung S series phone).

Anonymous, 20 Mar 2023The problem is when people buy budget phones they expect a ... moreFirst of all, the A54 has the same 5000mAh battery at 158x76 mm (6.2x3.02 in), whereas the A14 is a ridiculous 167x78 mm (6.6x3.07 in). So it definitely can be somewhat smaller without losing any battery. And there are other phones that are lighter than both of these with a 5000mAh battery as well.

Also, there should be a choice. The regular option, plus another small version called the "A14e 5G" or "A23e 5G". Similar to the size of the A10e, A40, or A01 from a few years ago.

You know there was a time when even non-flagship phones actually fit into the user's hand and pocket. Would be great to bring that back.

I shouldn't have to put the phone down every so often to relax my hands so that they shouldn't hurt.
