Update: there's something strange going on when you plug in 3.5 mm headphones. I used Panasonic RP-HT21 and there were interruptions the first 30 seconds I was listening to any song (YouTube, downloaded MP3). Weird... I'm pretty disappointed with this. The audio jack was a big deal for me and contributed to my purchasing decision. I guess I'll be returning the A15 4G :(
      I know, I know... 1st world problems :)

I got this phone about two months ago
It's so good, I'm really satisfied with it, for the price you're paying it's more than great
The performance is so good overall, if you are a regular user like me (day-to-day use, light gaming, etc) you will get what you want (I got the 6gb ram version and I recommend it over 4gb)
The only complaining I may think about is lacking OIS (video stabilization) and outdated display design (although personally I don't have any problem with it)

Anonymous, 30 Jul 2024You talk too much? This phone is OK at that price, If you w... moreNah, the phone's average/overpriced. I got the 8GB RAM version, but that doesn't matter at all for the issues I've mentioned - they're not going anywhere regardless. Look at Moto G72, Poco X5 5G, Redmi **Note** 13 4G. There's no point in buying this device if the above are available, unless you're able to get a massive discount to get it under **$150 per 8/256** (or at least 8/128 model). But then, the same logic can be applied to competitors and they're basically always better in about every way. There's no reason for Samsung to make great value-for-price entries, they're not gonna earn a lot from doing that. Just exists to farm money from people wanting this brand's phone, they're even intentionally removing features from A15 such as AoD to have them in A25 and better models. This price range is flooded with unimpressive devices tbh, but the three I mentioned above do stand out and Moto even is from 2022, which shows how little (none) improvement the price range saw in a year. All 3 of those even have a real proximity sensor.

Nice thing about these cheap devices is that you can upgrade each year (A16, A17 etc.) without breaking the bank.

Why didn't gsm arena talk about the ram plus???

After using this for almost 3 months now, heres what i can say about it:
                                Specs:Decent
                                Cameras:Decent
                                Battery:Good
                                Charging:Decent
+ points for having microSD and headphone jack

Overall:Very little complaints, good if you upgraded from a shitty phone like me.(Redmi 9a),but if you had a phone costing 200 euros or higher its not really gonna be worth the cost upgrading.

beky, 23 Jul 2024Its not bad phone is amazing, haters hate this phoneI've used this phone for more than a month now (and will leave a mini-review later in this comment), and while it might be "amazing" for a casual/low-demand consumer, even for that category it has serious issues compared to likes of POCO X5 5G that retail for about the same price or less but offers a lot better experience and slightly better hardware.

Let's start with most relevant issues:
                                        - does not have LTE-Advanced support (4G+), no carrier/band aggregation, so the LTE speeds u can get from this device will be most of the time pathetic. less or around 10 Mbps with rare cases of 40 to 60 Mbps if the modem decides to connect to a good base station. the reception is also generally worse than in competing models, as noticed by me and also pointed out in nbcheck's review.
you can find some sources stating this phone/SoC has an Lte Cat. 13 modem, but this is 100% not the case with this specific board from Samsung used in A15 4G.
                                        - virtual proximity sensor and not a good one in my experience, not crucial but i'd avoid devices without a real proximity sensor.
                                        - screen stays at 90Hz even when playing 24fps video, which is just embarrassing for a 2023-24 phone and affects the battery life.
                                        - the loudspeaker quality is below average, the mic quality is below average, no noise cancellation during calls
                                        - heavy for no reason
                                        - as per my experience and another person's report on reddit, A15 4G have a hardware issue with the 3.5-jack which causes very noticeable stutters in audio when output thru the jack. for that reason alone, i would avoid this model unless there is evidence that they have resolved this hardware issue, which is unlikely for this price segment and given the low popularity/relevance of this model. the issue doesn't appear across all frequencies, but very noticeable with most pop songs that ive tried. it is also not consistent.
                                        - updates come per region, very strong region lock as with all samsung phones (i recall theres a way to swap to different region OS). some settings menus are bugged regardless of which system version I run (particularly the wifi list menu), luckily doesn't prevent me from accessing any setting i need. generally the settings app is not that good or easy to navigate, the features are fine but not fast to access.
                                        - in my region, there was no charger in the box. but i also have to say, samsung's own charger is extremely compact. i wish i had bought a better A-series model than A15, i really love Samsung's charger portability for the charging speed its capable of.
                                        - Samsung "community" apps / adware, Samsung Account reliance. I've never used a Samsung phone before and this genuinely surprised me - it's not a lot of junk, but I can't even create the samsung account with my phone number for whatever reason (the phone number is mandatory information to sign up for samsung account). On my 2020 Xiaomi phone, there was much less need, annoyance and relevance for the Xiaomi account feature. And they never asked for my phone number.
                                        - the Samsung dialer app doesn't allow me to copy numbers so i can quickly look em up in scam caller databases or just do literally anything like share/etc.

I've enjoyed using this device for a bit, granted it actually does a decent job with 3D games (At least the gachas that I've tried lol, hsr/gi and nikke run perfectly fine at good fps and mid settings, can go high for nikke). I will be selling it though and looking to replace with a phone better suited to be my 2nd work/productivity phone. There are some good Samsung-developed apps and features, so I will consider buying one again - never the lowest tier though, as I've learnt my lesson. Thanks for reading.
