Samsung Galaxy A15 5G review
Android 14 with One UI 6.0
The Galaxy A15 5G boots Android 14 with the latest One UI v.6.0. The phone is eligible for three major Android updates and an extra year of security patches via firmware upgrades.
Some of the notable One UI 6 novelties include a redesigned Quick Panel, better notification visualization, an improved and simplified camera app, and more powerful gallery and editing tools, among others.
The One UI 6 version on the Galaxy A15 5G is not a Core one, and it has almost all functions but Always-On Display and DeX support. The studio video editor is not present, either.
Everything else is typical One UI - lockscreen, homescreen, widgets and icons, theme handling, multi-tasking (available in both pop-up and split-screen state), default apps.
You can read more details about OneUI 6.0 in our Galaxy A25 review.
Unfortunately, there is no support for FM radio on the Galaxy A15 5G and hence there is no FM app here.
Dimensity 6100+ powers the Galaxy A15 5G
The Dimensity 6100+ chipset behind the Galaxy A15 5G is in fact the same platform as the Helio G99 chipset inside the Galaxy A15 4G, but with a 5G modem. It is a 6nm chip from MediaTek with a 2+6 core CPU configuration (2x2.2GHz Cortex-A76 and 2x2.0GHz Cortex-A55) and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
The base storage version has 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage - it's the one we're reviewing. There are also two other 128GB versions with 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM, and one with 256GB storage and 8GB RAM.
The Galaxy A15 5G is priced around €200-€250 mark and features a rather popular combination of CPU and GPU. And because if that it scores similarly to other phones of the same class. You can tell it is among peers, or right at home.
The GPU performance is in line with the rest of the phones from the same price bracket and rather mediocre.
Finally, the AnTuTu tests put the Galaxy A15 5G at the bottom of the chart. It is not far behind the competition, but it did score lower for some reason.
Lastly, we tested the CPU and GPU stability. And quite expectedly the Galaxy A15 %G aced those as there was no observable throttling. Even better, the phone never got hot even after an hour running at peak performance.
The Galaxy A15 5G is a rather slow phone and you can feel it right away. Oddly, even if it has virtually identical hardware (performance-related) to the Galaxy A15 4G, the 5G model feels slower. There is noticeable lag and stutter quite often. And while gaming is possible, we are not sure the responsiveness would meet most expectations.
So, the Galaxy A15 5G has a good-enough chipset for most of the mundane operations and social network interactions, but you should lower your expectations about smoothness and responsiveness.

I got A15 5g, 8gb/256gb. It's a good phone for a $200-below price. Depending on your retailer - I got a samsung charger + the usb cable from where I bought it. This one has a FM radio (not sure with the 4gb/128gb variant). No screen record...
