My dead Poco X3 Pro is laughting on the grave! I've read that, if you want a phone for some years, buy with a lot of RAM. Seems for Samsung, 12 gb RAM os the TOP tier!! So the entry version with 8gb RAM os OP for them.. Not saying that, at least here in Portugal, they totaly going to sell only the 6gb variant. And 6 year security Patch seems Nice and all but why update for só long if every year they throw a new phone? Forget the patches and place the charger on the box Samsung and probably i'll think on buy 1 of your phones! (Currently using Poco M6 Pro 4g with 512rom/12ram!!! Probably same price table of this A16 5g)

I am considering the 8GB RAM 256GB storage version of this phone. If I understood correctly this phone will have 6 years of security updates. Is that true? If so, will it be able to handle all 6 updates?
My phone is old so either this phone or A15 5G would be cool

As critical as I am of Samsung's 4GB nonsense in the A15 5G postings (esp. since they falsely advertised 8GB), I will still defend the truth.

Midrange samsung is very bad, lots of defected unit, i bought a15 brand new and its already ghost touch, and some old users have their screen light saber/burn in

Studio video editor and some photo editing features which aren't available on the A15 5G.
There's a reason why there's a difference in price. A25 is the better phone.

Anonymous, 18 Oct 2024What wrong with 4gb getting 6 updates?That's six years of updates. The OS might be updated to consume more ram. That 128gb storage, which isn't even 128gb out of the box due to system OS, will continue to lose space over the years. And the user still has to put his own files and apps in there.
I have an 8gb ram Android 10 phone from 2020 and at EOL 4 years later, it only had less than 2gb ram free after Android 13.
And that phone has no ONEui bloat in it lol.

Should have 6gb ram options , 4 won't hold well for 6yrs update and if you don't update is fine we'll have to see.
Also with 6gb this is bang for buck if you need is a entry level phone but not bad like A06 with Samsung experience. While Chinese brands compete I know some like sammy OS (One UI) which is good for them. Overall nice phone , if updates matter to you great. 8/256 is good but then at that point chipset becomes a bottleneck if you want to use the Ram perfectly.
There is a SD card so yeah 128 seems okay for most who will use card for photos , slow or not. Sammy has their own SD cards so you can find what suits you. Headphone jack is a issue tho.
