Otan Nukem, 30 Jan 2025I am using the 8GB RAM version and so far the phone is work... more8GB RAM is bare minimum into 2025. I wouldn't buy a phone with anything less than a 8/256 GB setup, which is the minimum standard. Better is 12/512GB, which is the new standard for 2025. 16/512GB, or 16GB/1TB is the current high end standard, since 2024 already, with UFS 4.

Agrt, 27 Jan 2025And it wont last long as One UI is gonna get heavy updates ... moreMight be so, but these low spec'ed Samsung phones are hella slow, anyway. I've had the A53 into my last job, and whileas it was receiving constant updates - the (G)UI was hella slow, way slower, sluggish from usage, than my Poco M6 Pro 4G for real, and it was more than double as expensive, into 2023...go figure. It was 399 EUR, whileas my phone was only 175 EUR. Display, and everything else, snappiness, much better onto the Poco.

I am using the 8GB RAM version and so far the phone is working fine, without any lag. It is using about 3.5GB RAM, which for me means that 4GB is already a bit much. Buy phones with at least 6GB RAM.

Davidariyan, 06 Jan 2025Who need long updates in low end phone they sell their OS update & UI in compensation samsung must throw away good spec in this phone

                            I bought this off-retail yesterday for $250.

I can't say much except for the fact that it's what you would expect from Samsung for $250. The Dimensity 6300 is not bad for day-to-day tasks, except obviously for gaming.

What I would like to point out is that it's far better to get the 8GB RAM model of the A16 5G over an A16 or an A06. I previously used an A05s before this and it's a world of a difference in terms of performance and camera. The A25 is far better but also costs way more for the 8GB RAM model.

This is the "true" entry-level smartphone of Samsung that does not feel laggy. Everything else below is a slowpoke. Everything higher except the S-Series and the A55 is overpriced IMHO. Some will say the A35 is better, but I don't think so because the price difference is around $120.

It just launched here in the US. Unfortunately, the only option here is the base variant with only 128GB of storage and the worst part, 4GB of RAM, in 2025??? For $200??? It will run Android 20 like a snail.
