      Your definition of "wasted space" is wrong. As you're scrolling through a page, text (or any content, for that matter), will naturally go above the hole punch as it reaches the limits of the screen's height. While you can still see some of it with a hole punch, the teardrop notch covers it completely. THAT is "wasted space". You're literally seeing less content because the notch completely covers it.

      Please learn what a screen-to-body ratio is.

      Besides, this seems to be more of an issue of the centered hole punch. If you hate it that much, why not use a phone with a corner hole punch?

              This is a downgrade from A24 4G, the A24 4G used Helio G99 and now they're using Exynos 1280 for this phone? Exynos 1280 is not a good optimized chipset, as we compare it with Exynos 1380 or any other else. And this time Samsung making the price even worse, we can used the same price to buy A51, and now we are using that much for this A24. Such a downgrade though, not a good phone.

                A teardrop notch is connected to the bezel unlike a hole punch so there is no wasted screen space above it which the hole punch has above it. You get what I mean?

                    Now, I understand that by "shiny hole punch", you meant the ones with a silver ring around them, but even then, that's still better than a teardrop notch.

                      When we do some comparison, the specs of Samsung A33, A34, A53 with the newcoming A25, we soon realise they have very, very similar capabilities.

                      Consider the following:-

                      .A25, A33, A34 and A53 all supports 5G.
                      .A25, A33 and A53 use the same Exynos 1280 chipset. Past reviews on this chipset provides ample information about its performance.
                      .A34 is using Mediatek Dim.1080, has Antutu score of 472k, better than the Exynos 1280. Both chipsets however, should be relevant until four years of good usage.
                      .A34 has a minimal chin bezel but has the thickest waist.
                      .A53 has punch hole screen and has a minimal chin bezel. If you are not bothered with thicker chins, then any other model is fine.
                      .The A25 does not have IP certification unlike the others. If you are ok with this then it's fine.
                      .The A25 is the only one with an audio jack. If you do not need it, then any other model is fine.

                      Whether A25 will become the new star will depend on the A25 launch price. Check the four above current pricing in your country to realise the pricing are close. You become a smart consumer when you do some homework before deciding.

                          Xiaomi will push 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates to the 13T series. This kind of support will eventually get into their midrange and budget phones.

                          Google is already beating Samsung at their own game, with a promise of 7 OS Updates for their Pixel phones.

                          Google is also starting to pay Android manufacturers to push out security updates faster.

                          Meanwhile, you'll just keep on clutching to straws that will eventually crumble.

                          With a soon-to-be level playing field in terms of updates, Samsung phones no longer have any advantages to hook consumers to them. All that they have left is a fancy logo on the back that is more popular than the rest.

                          Specs take priority over anything and everything in this age of phones and in this segment, Samsung is underdelivering. If they want to retain their customers, they'll have to do better than this.

                            and also, specs do matter for future proofing and heavy tasks like editing and gaming.
                            would you rather have a Redmi Note 12 4G or a Vivo V27? Both big cores are clocked at the same speed, but one of them uses a 2/6 Cluster but a more recent architecture, and the other uses a 4/4 Cluster but an 8 year old Architecture.

                                  Waiting for the A35...hope it doesn't use an exynos processor like this one lol. It uses the same processor used by a53 I think. Guess they decided to release this phone and the a15 in December so that you can have a phone with a heater included for free XD.
