Been using Samsung A31 for 2 weeks now, My observations are :-
Pros
°Long Lasting Battery
°Super Amoled Display is Superb
°Doesn't overheat
°Games run smoothly, though slow at times
°Nice Build
Cons
°Finger Print takes time to register
°You have to slide up after using Finger print or Face scanner
°Low Images and Videos quality when posting on Social media compared to when its in the gallery.
°Taking a screenshot is kinda weird with the buttons placement

I just got the device, its cool, it's worth pointing out that It has always on display feature which is not mentioned in the specs here

Is it okay to update the software? It said that the Security pat h level is Nov. 1, 2020. Is it fine after installing it?

I don't like it, the fingerprint scanner is not working fine, poor quality photos. Huawei was much better.

2 months of use and the best things i can say are
Very good display
Long lasting battery (take a time to charge like 2 and half hours but it can easily last more that one day of use)
No lags in normal use (i use spotify/tidal in backgroud while i in instagram or reddit and never had a problem)
Camera is ok in day conditions but the lack of night mode make it very bad for night photography
the bads things are
sometimes the Chip overheat without reason
Camera is bad at night time
Lack of video digital stabilization

I'm using A31 since November. (not a gamer)
Performance : Quality (no lags)
Battery : Excellent (can last 24-36 hours) watching kdrama and using mobile data.
Charging time : 1 1/2 HOUR
Display : Excellent
Mobile data : Okay but not so good
Camera : Quality but not so good
SOUNDS : VERY POOR as in super low.
NO CALL RECORDING.
NO NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY.
