Gino76ph, 02 Sep 2024These phone companies don't see the point of releasing... moreOh, but Samsung DOES release tons of models. It's just that many of the "models" are fake. Meaning they're almost identical to A-series models with slight changes to trick the gullible into thinking there's an abundance of choice. Then they just slap a "M-series" or "F-series" name as if it's really something new or different. Heck, the A55 even has a "C55" and "M55s".

Now for the tons of budget customers that want a phone that's not so big and heavy (like the compact S model) there's nothing. Obviously. Despite the potential for a big profit. But not all Samsung planners are smart or even have common sense.

Anonymous, 01 Sep 2024You're absolutely correct. And not only the so-called ... moreThese phone companies don't see the point of releasing too many phones and variants of their phones. If you got too many models for each region then it is difficult to be on top of updates. That's just the way it is.
Why not follow the model of OnePlus or even Motorola. Give the people two mid-rangers (A3x or A5x or Nord CEx or Moto Gxx) two flagships (S2x, Nord X, Moto Edge Neo/Fusion) and an "ultra" or "Pro" flagship.
Keeping 5-6 models is so much easy to maintain and monitor rather than 10-12 devices.

What about the data that's still stored in your phone, that you wanted to back up but you either can't or forgot to? Memory cards are not saviors for data loss because you can't backup everything there. Also, did you even bother reading my comment about USB flash drives, portable hard drives, and cloud storage? Those are all alternatives to memory cards. It's not the end of the world when you use a phone that doesn't have a card slot.

"If you do not like memory card slot, go and vomit at apple and honor pages. Not here. Keep away from here."

I never said I hated memory card slots, I just wanted to tell you that not everyone needs them, tell you my personal bad experience with putting a microSD card on my old phone's memory card slot, and provide alternatives in the absence of a card slot. You kept on missing my point and twisting my words, that itself is a big problem on your part, and now you're trying to kick me out? How very rude of you.

I use samsung cloud because phone settings, main screen icon layout and only rhe apk files of the installed apps can be backed up to the memory card.

I mean the personal files cannot be backed up externally if any crap phone that does not have memory card slot and if you need to format the phone immediately.

If you do not have common sense to understand this, stop vomitting here and stop wasting my time.

It is stored in the database folder of whatsapp. I have doubt that whether you really use smartphone or not.

Use your common sense. If phone memory goes defective, you cannot recover the data. But if memory card goes corrupt, you can recover as much data as you can. The same happened for the 128 GB memory card in my Father's old memory card. It worked fine except it didn't copy few files. But thats not a big issue. I took full backup to my laptop. The memory card failed to format. I had another memory card and copied back the data in that memory card. Simple. Understood?. If you do not like memory card slot, go and vomit at apple and honor pages. Not here. Keep away from here.

s35ym., 01 Sep 2024You never answered 1 question to the point : About phone g... moreYou also failed to state the possibility of memory cards failing, taking away all your data with it. Out of the 9 microSD cards I own, 2 of them are no longer usable. One died while I was trying to copy over my schoolwork to it, and the other just stopped working all of a sudden. Your phones can suddenly hang up and die, and so can your memory cards too, nothing is eternal.

Moreover, not all of your phone's data can be backed up to a memory card. Your WhatsApp chat history for example, can only be backed up to your Google Drive. Plus, backing up to cloud storage ensures your files will be safer from sudden data loss.

I'm not saying memory card slots shouldn't exist anymore, I'm saying you should think outside the box a little bit more. There's alternatives to a lack of memory card slot, like USB storage drives, portable HDDs/SSDs, and cloud storage.

Anonymous, 01 Sep 2024You're absolutely correct. And not only the so-called ... moreI got the Pixel 6a (after being a Samsung customer for a long time). I'm also waiting for Samsung to make an affordable compact phone. If they don't, I won't be coming back. Same for quite a few of my friends and family members.

I voted with my wallet, and I hope more people do too. It's time to send Samsung a message: "Start providing real choices to those who aren't rich as well. Currently, your budget phones are so similar to each other in size and specs".

And not only the so-called "M-series", but the so-called "F series" is useless as well. They're basically 90% (or more) copies of A-series phones with tiny changes (and sometimes no changes at all) to pretend as if these are different phones which creates the false illusion of many different options and lots of choice, when in reality there's very little choice. They're just trying to fool customers. And the A55 has a "C55" and "M55s" as well. Just crazy.

But just one compact mid-ranger... THAT they won't do anymore, even though there are so many people who would love the S24 but can't afford it and would love such a sized budget phone with a midrange chip. But real choice is not something Samsung is into... Unless you're wealthy.

(In my opinion) This is a better bang for your buck than the A55. The A55 is like $350-$300 and this is $250-$200 and they have almost the same specs.

I think this phone is a decent all rounder for a cheap cost. I used to have an A15 (which I rooted because why not, it now sits in a box) and this phone is better in ALL aspects. I no longer have to use mediatek (yay!) And I finally get more than 4GB of ram which is nice. I'm not gonna root a smasnugget again because knox tripped isn't good 👍
