Perhaps it's fierce competition from Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo forcing Samsung to lower their prices to remain competitive in the low/mid-range market? Could be.
Not that I'm complaining, I'm just happy that the A35 is sold at a reasonable price here compared to the other countries. But If I had $400, I'd pick the Xiaomi 13T instead, which is a much better phone than the A35 in every way despite being 9 months old.

Anonymous, 15 Jul 2024$400 for the 6/128 variant in the US? Wow, I'm glad I ... morePart of the reason phones are overpriced in the US is because they need to support CDMA carrier bands. CDMA antennas are much more expensive than GSM Antennas.
If you go on Amazon, you’ll find a cheaper Latin American A35 that only works on GSM networks (such as TMobile) but not on CDMA networks. (such as Verizon)
But maybe it only matters in the case your sim is constantly on 2G/3G. I could be wrong but many international 4G phones work just fine no matter where you travel with them. (as long as it’s the “Global version” and carriers are using conventional 4G bands in that region) I don’t think “Latin version” is the same as “Global version”, so keep that in mind.

$400 for the 6/128 variant in the US? Wow, I'm glad I don't live there.
In my country, you can get the 8/256 variant of the A35 for just $274, which in my opinion is way more reasonable.

Sadly, we're only seeing evolution in smartphones and not revolution. I guess OEMs really want us to upgrade as rarerly as possible. Oh well, time to spend those hard earned $ elsewhere. Could add a few inches to my... height 🤔

Anonymous, 12 Jul 2024- Glass back cover will break faster if the phone is droppe... moreI completely disagree, here’s why:
- Punch hole looks a lot more modern & makes the phone look like expensive phone.
- Exynos 1380’s photo processing is a lot better than the dimensity photo processing. Some reviewers have even claimed that A35 takes better selfies than A55.
- S23 FE is NOT a good choice at all. It has a really bad battery life. It scored the worst on GSMArena’s new test.
- Recording in 4K provides a sharper output regardless of the display viewing the video, but on a phone like this I would personally prefer 1080p/60 for the smoother frame rate.
- WiFi 6 is important if you want to stream video from your video game console to your phone. or when you want to mirror your phone’s screen onto your TV without any lag. It’s not just faster internet. (It got released back in 2019, so it’s everywhere. We even have WiFi 7 now)
- A35 has adaptive refresh rate
- At least, HDR is supported on YouTube. (Not on third party apps like Netflix though)
- A34 has 3 years left of software updates whereas A35 has 4 years left.
In my place, The price gap between A34 & A35 is less than $30. Not to mention it will run out of stock anyways so It doesn’t make any sense to buy A34 over A35.

Anonymous, 09 Jul 2024A35 is not an improvement over A34?
- Glass back cover (... more- Glass back cover will break faster if the phone is dropped, especially when it doesn't have any protection. So, a case will be used to cover the phone and then you won't ever see the glass back again anyway. Also, the cost of repair is higher for a glass back than a plastic back;
- In paper, Gorilla Glass Victus+ is in fact a better choice in everything than Gorilla Glass 5, however in practical tests Gorilla Glass Victus+ is superior only in scratch-resistance (doesn't matter at all when you use a screen protector), however it is more susceptible to drop damage than the older Gorilla Glass 5;
- Punch hole, notch... No matter which one, any of these interrupt with your display. It's not like any of these are better, the truth is both are very bad. I don't really like the trend of hole punches and notches along with the water notch on A34, but it is small enough that I can forgive it for other things and also price;
- Yes, of course! There is no denying that Exynos 1380 is better in peak performance. However, it is worse in the sustained temperatures which causes the performance of Exynos 1380 to drop below Dimensity 1080 when overheated. Dimensity 1080 sustains constant temperature and loses little no performance. I already tried my friend's A54. They are happy with it, because they are not a power user by any means. If you have more accumulated more budget for your tech expenses and don't do heavy tasks for prolonged periods of time on your phone, then blindly go on for the favorite Exynos processor of your choice. I'm sure, you won't regret it! You could check the S23 FE even, it's a great recoommendation by GSMArena here;
- Camera on A34 doesn't have oversaturated colors. Let's be honest, it's not a great performer in low light by any means. But A54, had these saturated colours and since the same processor is here that would also apply to A35;
- Why would you record 4K videos on a phone without that specific resolution? It's just nitpicking at this point. You won't see any difference on 1080p display anyway;
- If you have Wi-Fi 6 in your house, then that's great. I'm happy for you, I've yet got to buy a router that supports it. Other than that, Wi-Fi 5 will still be supported here quite for some time. It will take time for the world to switch to Wi-Fi 6 and even then it's not at least 50% better in speeds than Wi-Fi 5. What do you need that extra speed for anyway, secret NASA or military operations?
Hey, you also forgot to mention:
- significantly bulkier weight (199g to 209g);
- more height (161.7 mm and 161.3 on A34 is already over enough anyway);
- still no HDR10+ even though the A54 had it with the exact same processor;
- and the same point goes with no adaptive refresh rate even though same processor on A54.
So, summarising as I said: A35 is a good choice between A55 to save some bucks for almost the same features. However, it is not an improvement over A34.

Anonymous, 09 Jul 2024A35 is not an improvement over A34? - Glass back cover (... moreYeah. Those are all major improvements. Literally the only minor downgrade is a slight decrease in active user score. And even then, the battery life difference in daily usage is negligible. The A35 is an improvement over the A34 in almost every way.
