But I already get performance issues related to touch and jitters at times. I guess Ill have to put some more effort to get it to '27 since that was my actual plan in the first place, for this phone to last me atleast 4 years

Anonymous, 12 Dec 2024Yes I meant 1480. Was hoping to upgrade to A36 from my A53 ... moreNot really a downgrade. The SD 6 gen 3 and SD 7s gen 2 are comparable to the Exynos 1380 in the A35 in all areas, including energy efficiency. I suppose you could say it's a "downgrade" in the sense that there will be no noticeable performance jump, especially for a phone that might come with the promise of 6 years of updates. However, at least the network reception capabilities should improve a good bit.

As for the A36: It has already popped up on Geekbench with an as yet unspecified Snapdragon SOC and Adreno GPU, which notebookcheck and GSM arena have both reported on. It would have indeed been part of a trend to see the A36 getting the Exynos 1480, but it does seem like it will come with a Snapdragon.

Also, not all the Chinese skins are that bad in terms of ads. OnePlus is great. Their devices have little by way of ads. Vivo is horrible. Oppo and Realme are in-between those two.

I assume you get an ad free experience on those flagships?

7000mAh battery, 1800 battery cycles. Wi-Fi 7, LPDDR5X? Where did you get all this info from lol. Samsung would never put batteries larger than 5000mAh, and would never have Wi-Fi 7 and LPDDR5X for their mid-rangers.

I'm not a fan of it myself (I prefer stock android, One UI, Oxygen) but she's getting by without issues. My main issue with her device is the adware notifications and bloatware.

As for benchmarks: Motorola G75 (SD 6 Gen 3) users and one reviewer are reporting synthetic benchmark scores on the same level as devices with SD 7s Gen 2 (Moto Edge 50 Fusion) and Exynos 1380 (Galaxy A35).

The SD 6 Gen 3 can be thought of as an SD 6 Gen 1 with the A78 cores having a 0.2 GHz clock increase, or as an SD 7s Gen 2 with the A55 cores having a 0.15 GHz clock decrease. All three even have the same Adreno 710 GPU and the same X62 modem.

I for one am hoping they use a faster variety of storage than in the A35.
