Saulasp, 31 Oct 2017I have been using Galaxy Alpha before bought this A3 as rep... moreSame here. I think it's the oleophobic coating fault on front. But still my alpha in 25 months has 2 scratches on display. On my a5 2016 I used tempered glass but took it off (not compatible for 2.5d glass) and in 3 months I already got 3 deep scratches. I don't understand... all samsung phones until 2015 had very good resilience. Why do people like curved infinity display that cracks extremely easy??? Why do I have to use screen protectors that affect touch sensitivity just to extend it's lifespan(not protect it) ??? I really miss 2014...

If you're still on 6.0 I highly recommend the 7.0 update.
I didn't notice any speed issues(I'm not a heavy user though), but the performance of fingerprint scanner improved DRAMATICALLY.
I'm not a big fan of the new icons, however.
After using the A3 for 6 months now, I'm really glad I've picked this over the iPhone SE.

I have been using Galaxy Alpha before bought this A3 as replacement.
I am happy with performance, but i haven't noticed any speed difference vs. old Alpha.
Though i am not a gamer, just navigation, browsing usage.
The big disappointment is screen glass. I have been using my old Alpha for about 2 years without any protection and at the end it had maybe 3-4 minor scratches. The reason I went for the new phone was, the screen broke eventually, even though I have dropped my phone 4-6 times early without consequences.
So I was very happy with Gorrila 4 glass and the fact, i could use my old phone for two years without any protectors and original smooth looks of the phone was a big advantage for me.
So then i chose to go for A3 (2017) I thought i would get same great experience.
But the scratch resistance of the same Gorilla 4 technology somehow is much more worse. I don't keep my phone in pocket together with keys or I cant think of any other abrasive contacts, but my new phone's both glasses (front and back) are full of scratches. Its after 2 month of usage. Many tiny scratches and a couple of deep already. So now i have to put my phone in silicon case, and put screen protector on. And here disappears all advantages of this smooth design look Samsung gave us.
Very big disappointment. I am looking forward, then this glass back-panel hype will fade and manufacturers will come back to more robust materials like metal or quality plastic.
As for the front panel, I don't know why some difference experiences from the same Gorilla 4 technology. Maybe it have something to do with 2.5D versus flat screen?

Dax, 20 Oct 2017No Amoled...so...NOPEDon't let yourself fooled by that. Stared at it long enough to say for sure low res amoled display suck. Samsung uses them for battery and gimmicky things like the always on display. Fonts look bad on this phone at this res. Every two pixels share one of their subpixels. Read about pentile displays. Do not trust me, visit a store, play with it, form own opinion. Images, photos look good but the text is a meh for me.

Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016)
Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017)
Above both phones have compact screen size (4.7 inches) but not launched in INDIA.
What is the logic behind this...?
Average palm size of Indian people is smaller than that of American & European. So this compact screen size is more popular & preferred in India. Eg. Samsung Galaxy J2 (2015). So Samsung should launch more compact size phones in India.

nope, 30 Oct 2017bullshit. All of them have true 4g and 4g+ and it works fla... moreLooking at concise oxford dictionary I found bullshit meaning talking nonsense in an attempt to deceive, which I strongly deny. Perhaps you did not read my comment carefully. I argued that there is no sense in defining 5 versions, when one among them can do anything others do. This is one of the rare samsung products with this unusual model division. In almost all other models each version has a unique feature and capability, and so the division of the model into versions is meaningful.
My main question is that, what was the reason samsung did not select A320Y/DS as the global version of galaxy a3 2017?

I love this phone. Bought it earlier than it was available at shops with pre-registration. The battery is superb, can last 2 days with medium gaming and browsing, even with the new nougat update. The performance is excellent, it has never let me down, snappy as fck. The camera is okay, the screen beautiful. The design, uuu la laa. Did I mention it's waterproof? Best compact phone 2017 no doubt.
