I think it was due to poor camera optimisation. And I don't have high hopes for A50s either.
Aperture is perhaps the most important thing for capturing details and this is the part of camera that costs most money to make. F/2 is just too low.............. There are 100 eur phones offering f/1.8.
It does have a 1/2 aperture sitting behind f/2 which is good but front one matters the most. It will not be able compete with Realme X and Realme 3 Pro.

Everything else about the A50 was done just right, no need to change anything else at that point. Now the only thing they have to do is maintain the price, otherwise it wouldn't sell.

No need to hate it, this A50s is for China only.
If you don't live in China and you really want it, buy the A50 because the last update is terrific. I'm talking about the August update, the one we had 3 weeks ago.
