For a customer who switch from Apple, this device is garbage, by all means, even if we compare it to SE, as a midrange device, Apple still won the battle from smoothness of browsing to camera quality and how fast the device can response to your activity. Battery charges more 1 hour and 13 mins before it got full even I used 25W. Not gonna recommend this. Big waste of money.

Does this phone have region lock or something? Can I use it in India after purchasing directly from the middle East (without unboxing it)?

skymfa, 07 Aug 2021Although the previous generation A51 had a really small mar... moreI disagree, A52 is a good mid range flagship, there isn't a difference between the a51 and a52, just a camera and overall performance, but the only thing that the a52 has was the 120hz display! Although the IPhone 13 pro and pro max will both have 120hz LTPO Displays, it shouldn't be that much of an issue anyways!

Although the previous generation A51 had a really small margin, which was great. But the A52 is a big setback.
        Page margins are really high!
For a phone in 2021, this margin is awful. Compared to competitors, Xiaomi and other brands have lower screen margins.

A52s with better processor (Snapdragon 778G and 8 Go RAM) coming very soon in a few days or maybe weeks. Same price. Wait for it because it will replace A52, and that will be a real flagship killer...

Omar, 05 Aug 2021Is there audio headphone jack for this phone? I am planning... moreI wouldn’t recommend doing that as S20+ is a flagship and A52 5G is a mid-range phone. I would suggest you keep your S20+ and just get a USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack adaptor.

Is there audio headphone jack for this phone? I am planning to sell my s20+ to buy this one.

Good to know that gsmarena got the 5G unit for full review. When can we expect the full review?

That huge leap in performance is annoying for those who just bought the phone. They couldve extended their release date to provide a better phone than doing this to the consumers.

skymfa, 09 Jul 2021Really large screen margins (competitors have done better) ... moreI think this one is fan of Chinese phones like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, or Realme.

In real life situation, Chinese brands tend to became slower over time. I've noticed it for very long time since I already owned a Chinese and non-Chinese phones. I've owned Oppo R7 Lite on 2015 which is a mid range phone during that period. At first it was really smooth like it can crush Galaxy A5 (2016) which was has the same SoC on the Chinese Version since Philippine Version is using the dubious Exynos Chips. But on months of my normal usage like light gaming, scrolling through Facebook, Messenger, Google, and Photography; I noticed a huge difference between those two:

                          1. The cameras starts to degrade it's quality whereas on the A5 2016, they still take nice photo quality even it's already more than 3 years.

                          2. The performance of the chip. R7 Lite were prone to thermal throttling under normal usage due to the fact that even it's of metal and the thinness of the device to the point that you can actually feel the SoC is like a stove that is off for about 25 seconds

                          3. The User interface, ColorOS is not mature enough, you can't upgrade to 5.1 to 6.0 due to the limitations of the software. Adding the fact that ColorOS has a bunch of bloatware like TouchWiz (which became Samsung Experience and now known as the OneUI), the latter (TouchWiz) performs better due to it's under the hood optimizations. TouchWiz eats less of your storage, performs a lot better, and most importantly they are supported for 2 major updates.

                          4. Price of the spare parts, when you buy an Oppo phone in the Philippines, the only way you can fix it is by going to their service centers to get your phone repaired. Samsung on other hand, you can ask your phone to be repaired on non-authorized repair shops or you can just simply repair by yourself. Samsung tends to have cheaper parts, you can actually buy for an instance, a Galaxy J8 Screen for around 23-25 dollars.

I don't say that Chinese phones are bad but what I am trying to explain is that those Chinese Phone Companies are not as matured as Samsung, Apple, and Huawei. As these companies are still trying to continue to improve their devices, it's better that we stay on manufacturers that we know and we've already been tested by time and user experience.

Samsung has gone to great lengths to use rear lenses .And a lot of rear lenses are very bad. This metal ring around the selfie camera is really bad. It can be seen even when the screen is off.If competitors do not have this metal ring, they will cause less inconvenience for users to view the content.

gringo, 01 Aug 2021for the same price or less, i still prefer Mi 10T Pro with ... moreThe Xiaomi is good, but it isn't necessarily a better buy. There are a lot more things this Samsung offers that more people value more than raw processor speed only. Among those things that this Samsung offers that Xiaomi cannot and does not offer are: guaranteed timely 3 year Android software and security updates, micro SD storage expansion, a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio, ability to manually select 2G/GSM, 3G/WCDMA, 4G/LTE and 5G/NR bands to lock into to get the best download speeds and call quality, ability to hide SSID, problem free Widevine L1 support for high quality streaming of Netflix, Amazon Prime movies and DRM encoded content (Xiaomi and other China branded phones are problematic in that aspect), and a vastly more refined, mature Android skin that is not buggy and works problem free with third party launchers (like Nova launcher) and many other apps, not like MIUI. On top of the above, you can be assured of Samsung's Knox security and the peace of mind Samsung phones don't have government mandated backdoors unlike Xiaomi.

Chromium is open source and even if they're the same kernel, it still largely depends on the data collection habits of the browser's developer, the default search engine used and the default apps used in the browser. Example: Using office365 mail instead of Gmail and Onedrive instead of Google drive and staying with Bing as a default search engine in Edge instead of Google search engine.
